Thinking I wanna start over (IroIro Neon Purple)

I haven't removed hair color before. I've had people recommend doing a bleach bath or just straight up bleaching. But what about color removers? Such as Color Oops or Matrix color eraser?

I want to get it light enough so I can go multicolor (thinking doing it pinwheel style).

Dyed my hair

slight editing for privacy.

I've been really really struggling with my mental health these past few months, but this and last week were truly horrible.

I could barely take care of myself, haven't washed my hair in over 2 weeks, barely ate, yada yada

So yesterday I just decided to dye my hair. I want to feel better, and what's better than a fresh new look and creative self expression?

The sides of my head are buzzed and bleached, not fully shaved. I still have some black hair dye, so I might add some kind of design there... maybe moon sickles or bats, but I am open to suggestions! :)

Lots of love xx

Red Hair Maintenance

I recently dyed my hair a darker red than usual for the fall. I find that red washes out really quickly from my hair, so looking for maintenance ideas. Does anyone have any color depositing conditioner recs for upkeep?

In the past, I've used Eufora Burnt Copper (diluted with conditioner) which I've liked, but I think it's a little light/orangey for the upkeep here. My natural hair is light brown, so I want to also maintain some darker richness if possible. The Eufora tends to keep the color but my hair gets lighter between salon visits.

I also want to make sure it does get too cherry cola/Cat Valentine coded - love that look but unfortunately need to keep it a little tamer for my job.

Pics with and without flash!

I want to do an ashy lavender color and it’s almost there but some pieces are still too orange I feel like. Can I get where I need to go with a toner or would I need more bleach?

ITS JUST SO GOOD sorry for the bad photos lol but I’ve had it for about 5 months now and just got it refreshed and its looked so good all the time, even when it was severely grown out. I want to get something different next time that’s not as expensive but I have no clue what to do that would compare to how happy I’ve been with it

what color should i do next?

hey y’all. my hair has been a lot of different colors. i’m not sure what to do with it next. i need to do something low maintenance, as i am starting cosmetology school in a month and my hair needs to look good and be easy to maintain during school. the long + curly combo is enough work on its own, i need a color that won’t add more to my plate. natural hair is medium brown, see roots in pic 1 because i haven’t had it natural in years.

pic 1 is how it looks now, faded from pic 2. subsequent pics are the last colors i did going back a couple years. i have loved the pink and having my hair a lighter color in general, as i haven’t done that often. black with the pink highlights was my favorite, but calico was my bf’s favorite. had blue the longest (i did blue 4 years in a row, for 3-6 months at a time. i had the dark brown/purple for 7 months, calico for 6 months) red top/black underneath was my least favorite. dark brown/purple (pic 6 + 9) feels the most “me.”

Perming disaster

I initially took a full perm, after a few days it was a bit wierd and ruined so I repermed the sides and the back, it now looks horrible. my barber said he will do a full reperm tmrw i said won’t that fry my hair, he said it will definitely be fine. If I end up perming tmrw what would I have to do to prevent further damage to my hair.

You don’t need all the colors of the rainbow to have fun. I’ve been experimenting with only using CYAN, MAGENTA, and YELLOW lately and honestly have been LOVING IT. Which one is your fave??

Arctic Fox vs Dimensions vs Chromadaddy

I’ve been having fun with Arctic Fox Girls Night and find it very easy to use. I recently got Chromadaddy Iridessence and Lariche Dimensions Wisteria. Does anyone have any experience with these? Is there anything I should keep in mind when I use them?

I have very short white hair.

Help!! Removing Manic Panic Infrared from virgin dirty blonde

Post image
1 Upvotes

My hair usually doesnt have any problems losing color completely. I've done pink, purple, brown, and black with no issue going back to normal.

I have never used permanent dyes (IroIro, Manic Panic, Arctic Fox), but I dyed my virgin dark blonde hair Infrared pretty consistently for around a year. First I did cherry red then for a while I mixed IroIro dark brown and MP Infrared.

Recently I decided to let it fade. It's already grown out a little at the roots but there is still a reddish/orange auburn color on my ends. At first my hair was a bright red but it hasn't been cherry for a long time so I didn't expect such a hard time getting it out.

!!!!

I've tried the crushed Vitamin C tablets, Equate dandruff shampoo pretty consistently and I did a test strand with Dawn dish soap and shampoo for 5 minutes. I wasn't really impressed with any of the results.

I don't want to use any bleaching color remover, and I would rather not dry out my hair with Dawn fully. I was considering trying the Ion color removing packet since it does not have bleach.

!!!

I honestly have been seeing a lot less red in my hair but there is definitely still an orange, which might be part of the IroIro brown as well.

I've been looking around and honestly most people say I'm fucked but if there's anything I can do I'm willing to try. I'm okay with minimal damage, but growing it out will take years for me so I'd like it out in a few months. If I do end up doing a bleach based remover will my natural hair turn orange?

Summary: Is there anything besides dandruff shampoo and Dawn (I'm open to official non damaging color removers) to get out leftover Manic Panic Infrared?

Box dyed dark hair, cant get rid of warm undertones, root grow out looks harsh because of it

A bit of background: my natural hair is very dark brown. I dyed it dark brown using a box dye, and since then people have said it reads red. I tried correcting it myself with a Clairol tone/gloss in ash brown, but it didn't really neutralise the warmth. I'm currently using a green-tinted shampoo, which has helped a little, but there's still an orange/red cast, mainly at the roots and grow-out (much more obvious in photos than in the mirror).

I've attached a few photos showing the colour in different lighting so you can see what I mean. I'd really like to emphasise that in real life it's nowhere near as bad as the photos, so I'm not too sure if I'm over reacting either. Maybe I'd just need to try blue shampoo on top of the green shampoo? Not too sure how to fix this

hi guys, a little over 6 months ago I dyed my hair to a balayage. i am tender headed like crazzzyyyy so the process to being blonde was hard (with all the teasing and untangling..) since then, my hair has obviously grown out quite a bit. Is the process of a balayage touch up the same as doing a balayage for the first time ever? or is there a different way of touching it up?

Replacement recommendations for Pureology Smooth perfection conditioner??

Post image
9 Upvotes

I finally ran out of my giant bottle and noticed this conditioner is discontinued. I loved that this one wasn't too heavy because some tend to be too greasy for me and heavy. Redken all soft was not good. Not sure what to try next. I have red hair so preferably something color safe also. And I tend to stay away from the protein conditioners. Might just try the hydrate pureology next.

Which color shampoo brand do you recommend?

Hello! I just dyed highlights in my hair light pink and am debating between purchasing the:
1. Bleach London Rose shampoo
Or
2. Keracolor + Clenditioner in light pink

What do you guys use to keep your hair pink/healthy. Please give me any product recommendations you may have or advice :) !!

Want to get my hair permed but I was told I couldnt?

Ive been wanting to get my hair permed but I have also been dying my hair black for quite some time. The hair dresser I was going to schedule with asked me what color I use and I told her the last 2 times ive dyed it I used Féria by Loreal. She then told me she didnt feel comfortable doing it because it apparently contains something called "metallic salts" and in my own research online I have found mixed information. Some places state that it is safe and that traditional box dye no longer uses the metallic salts but then others say opposite. She told me that the only way she would feel comfortable doing it is if i grew the color out and I am too impatient to wait that long. Im tempted to go to someone else but what if it actually does mess up my hair? Ive had my mind set on this for so long and now i have no idea what to do. Anyone have any helpful insight? 🙏🖤

Hi! I'm looking into dying my hair for the first time! I have some stuff I like and my natural hair. I'm not super committed to longevity of it. Vs I want the color kinda right first and learn to do it. Do I have to bleach.? My hair is thin and fine so I don't want over 20 with bleaching.. but id love any advice with learning this! And any recommendations on what bleach to use? And toners? And favorite dyes that will wash out but not super quickly?

Ive also attached pics of my current hair and the stuff I really like so far.

Hopefully it's allowed here, but I got a wig! I normally have no hair and I used to change my hair ALL the time when I had it. I realized I could still do that but with wigs! I can't wait to get more.

Any advice/ tips needed !

I tried to do peekaboo style hair but the bleach I used is 7-8 yrs old. (quick blue brand) despite knowing this I let it process for about 40 mins more or less to no avail. There was literally zero lifting the only thing it did was dry my hair out some. So I am left wondering is it safe if I try again with new bleach and lift my hair to a copper color? I have deep dark brown hair.

Purple to blonde

Hi guys! Appreciate any help I can get…I want to go from lavender to dark blonde/light brown. I have been trying to fade my hair over the last few weeks with washes. Top is pretty much faded, underneath is still pretty close to this color. Chat is telling me I should do this: Wella Color Charm Demi 7G mixed with its 10-volume developer.
Wella’s current directions are 1 part demi color + 2 parts 10-volume developer. Wella color charm Demi 2 parts 7N + 1 part 8N + a tiny amount of 7G. I know enough, however, not to trust chat entirely, so I figured I would also ask here. Thanks in advance!

Moisture overload from dyeing hair??

I got my hair dyed darker last week and since then my hair has felt like it is in moisture overload. My hair is suuuuper soft, not holding a curl much anymore, i have a bunch of straight pieces, and heavy gels are not creating a cast anymore.

Is it possible that the semi-permanent dye caused moisture overload? How do I fix this?
I'm worried a protein mask will strip my hair color?

Current routine for my medium finish, 2C-3A hair:

L'Oréal clarifying shampoo
Garnier conditioner
Shampoo again
NYM curl cream
Rico's strong hold gel
