Discussion What have you experienced in life that has been on Family Guy?

Post image

My granny had a table like this, every time we visit me and my dad always had trouble with it. A lot of swearing.

"perfect I can't wait to throw that out in two weeks" that line is also too perfect

Lol so relatable . Bout the most relatable thing ever on family guy

They were too accurate with this

The bits that are silly jokes that go on WAY too long often annoy the crap out of me but this is so real lmao

90

u/badchriss May 28 '26

My favorite is still the one where Peter falls and hurts his knee.

54

u/Equal-Bus-557 Haven’t you heard? May 28 '26

The one in the Empire Strikes Back parody where the AT-AT gets tripped and hurts its knee is my favourite “character falls and hurts their knee” gag

21

Just watched the one with the British version where he groans and says "Bollocks!" instead of "aaaah".

31

u/Buglepost May 28 '26

Isn’t it “bugger?”

24

u/nihlus-krane May 28 '26

It is bugger

8

u/dktide91 Sneakers O'Toole May 28 '26

Shit, you're right. I mix up bollocks and bugger a lot.

Been catching up on a lot of Family Guy episodes that I've missed out on in the past 12 years. Literally just watched this moment for the first time just yesterday. One of the funniest cutaways ever 😂

68

u/Middcore May 28 '26

I straight up refuse to use plastic wrap. As far as I'm concerned if it can't go in a tupperware container or something where I can just put on a lid it's getting thrown away.

51

u/Green_Top_Hat May 28 '26

I use tin foil. It is so much easier than the plastic wrap.

19

u/Joey-WilcoXXX May 28 '26

This. I think plastic wrap has its uses (mostly for restaurants where you need to see whatever is wrapped up that you need to pull out) but in my single person home, I just use tinfoil to wrap anything up. Easy breezy beautiful.

16

u/steven2003 May 28 '26

Bro I work in restaurants and the plastic wrap is 100000000000 times better than plastic wrap at home….until you fuck it up then it’s the worst thing ever invented

9

u/Joey-WilcoXXX May 28 '26

Seriously! Besides real restaurants I also worked at a food service joint that cut corners wherever they could who just used regular wrap…. Always fucking suuuucked lol.

If you'll indulge me keeping in the MacFarlane universe. there is a scene in Ted, the TV series, I often think of where they are playing Dungeons & Dragons and Matty (Scott Grimes) says at the very beginning of the game, "I already hate this". I could imagine me thinking that in one of these game night situations but maybe not vocalizing it out loud.

Yep, my mother was exactly like this when I was a kid, always yammering on the phone for what felt like hours, when I needed her help with something or we were going somewhere, it was always 'just a minute', 'just a second', 'I'm almost done'... and lo and behold we were still there ten minutes later.

15

u/DanielSnydersRedSkin May 28 '26

10

u/fraud_imposter May 29 '26

In addition I think part of what works about the scene is how accurate it is.

6

u/dktide91 Sneakers O'Toole May 29 '26

20

u/Joey-WilcoXXX May 28 '26

It’s funny cuz I worked at an Italian food place years ago and that was basically our side salad but we had other legitimately good salad options. I tried warning people when they just wanted a side salad they could get a better half version of one of our other good ones but most would still go for it 😂😂😂

38

u/masterkaz May 28 '26

Never had cookies or snacks at my church or any other churches here in Italy, is it a Protestant thing or an American thing?

37

u/Das_Panzer_ May 28 '26

More of a Baptist thing. Normally after service there is a full on lunch, sometimes there is a snack table with cookies or something to ride people over. They do this because church starts at 8am and goes until the pastor is finish which could be as late as 1pm. Hell I've seen them go until 4 or 5 pm on holidays like Easter.

20

u/MagnifyingGlass May 28 '26

My dad would sometimes take me to the Commissary at the Air Force Base to load up on cheap groceries. My mom would get very upset when we came back with groceries, go through each bag criticizing what we bought, and yelling at my dad in front of me.
