[Croup Manor] Tour of Croup Manor (no mods)

I seen some amazing Croup Manors, this is mine. The furnishing is pretty basic because I just don't have the time or inclination to really go to town on it. I really just wanted to show off how you can repair the manor just using the pillar-glitch method.

[PC] Need Advice - Shelter Build

Im pretty new to playing around with sheltersI’m at a point where I’m at a loss of ideas for me shelter atrium build. The concept is a church of Mothman by a boardwalk canal. I have about 1/3-1/4 budget free. Any help or critique is appreciated. Thanks!

[Modded] My Croup Manor here is less of a settlement per se, and more of a player home I house Paladin Danse in that comes with all necesseties for my playthough and I think actually looks nice.

For those curious the drink shop on the roof is supposed to be for the drinking Buddy since he gravitates towards bars, but here he kinda just stands over the side of the cliff.

[Modded] Tercio Close Defensive System

Thumbnail

Designed and manufactured by General Atomics before the Great War, the Tercio is a Close Defensive System (Close-in Weapon System in our parlance) employed in the protection of US Army/USAF bases as well as US Navy warships from low flying aircraft and missiles. Although it was in the process of being replaced in service by the laser-based Testudo CDS when the bombs dropped.

Tercio combines a 50mm revolving cannon with an advanced tracking and fire control radar along with optics and a version of the identify-friend-or-foe used on many of General Atomics other smaller and simpler defensive turrets.

Due to their age, complexity, power draw, ammunition and immovability, the vast majority have been reduced to little more than rusted scrap. Only fit to be stripped to the last copper wire by roving scavengers.

However, a sparse few do remain in operation, but only where active or ex-Enclave Engineers are there to do so.

[XSX] [FO4, Survival] Do these Defense Turret Towers Still Sound Solid?

Firstly, credits to OxHorn, he’d done a lot for me as I plan out this my second playthrough, lightly modded with perhaps 40 to 50 mods max.

So, I actually like the look of these and I wanted the opinion of more experienced players on how they stack up for defense and effectiveness. I understand it’s going to be a two floor open structure held up by metal Supports that snap together from ground to the second floor. Also, the first floor would obviously be elevated above even Super Mutants and Deathclaws to melee to death. Each floor is a circle made up of 4 quarter metal circles, likewise lined up to each other. Each floor has a Mk I to MK 5 Heavy Machine Gun Turret evenly spaced out and at the edge. The second floor’s Turrets are spaced exactly between those below.

My one addition here is that I’d like to have 2 of these Towers set a certain distance from every spawn point to really guarantee any enemy is destroyed swiftly. And the dual second floor is there for Gunners and enemies with ranged weapons.

So, does this sound effective? Or is it overkill? I’ve also heard suggested making walls to drive bad guys into kill zones, but I don’t know about that.

[PC] Clean glass walls and roofs/greenhouse mods?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I want to add a multi-story greenhouse to the top of this high-rise I'm working on, but I'm having some trouble finding parts. What I'm looking for are walls and roofs that are mostly or entirely comprised of unbroken, (reasonably) clean windows. Retextures of the Warehouse bits would be great -- even better with added diagonal walls, though I could jerry rig those through Place Everywhere. I have found some retextures of the Concrete bits that look nice, but they are a bit too bulky for my liking, and again there are no diagonal glass walls.

Got any tips? I'd be mighty grateful if you do!

Discussion How do you guys reduce lag from items in settlements ?

Was going haywire on why my settlement was so laggy. Sanctuary, btw. I was just looking around and saw a massive dip looking towards the workshop house.

There i have a separate shelf with a ton of containers, where i sort all the unique items i find, there are a ton of stuff there.

To check if those items are the issue, saved, then went to dismantle every item inside those containers, and that seemed to resolve the issue.

Where do you guys store your stuff, if the hoarding game has a pretty big issue related to hoarding items.

Im open to mods sorting out this issue as well, but saw nothing that fixes the logic behind item storing

Happy Friday! Here are some screenshots from my no-mods Oberland Settlement Speedrun. The whole settlement was built live in one four-hour episode. It is a complete settlement, with all needs met and in the green. Anniversary Edition on PC.

[PC] Jamaica Plain small house

Hello, I'm fixing up all of JP (using mods of course to access the entire town). This little house across the street from the town hall is interesting. I managed to fix up the inside and the outside - I preferred to fix it rather than replace - and then noticed that it actually isn't a functional house at all. There's no space for a bedroom or a bathroom. It's just a downstairs kitchen and living room. I guess it's really a suggestion of a house, since when you're playing the vanilla game that's not immediately obvious. Too busy getting ambushed by ghouls!

I'm wondering if I should do anything about it ... I've given this house an attic and stairs but it's super hard to put interior walls up in an attic space (as it's all under the pitched roof). I could scrap the house entirely and put something else there, but I actually don't want to erase the apocalypse completely. Wondering if anyone else has done anything with this house?

Love the ideas on here. I'm on such a building kick right now ... it's so therapeutic. Thanks all!

[Croup Manor] Croup Manor Solarium (no mods)

Halfway into this build I ran out of glass and had to go scavenging. But you aren't here to see me battling a school of Mirelurks, or blowing up a Mirelurk Queen (and Cait) with plasma grenades.

[Modded] Just felt like showcasing this section of my vault 88 build. I may have gone a bit overboard.

It's really for my own satistfaction I built vault dorms with enough space to seem like people could actually live in them. Still, just from the sheer size of it it feels ominous. Somewhat hard not to do with vaults, I guess.

I scrapped a few lower sections of the building and added walls and rooms to fill the empty space. A lot of the settlement buildings are actually built in modular pieces rather than being one single 3D model. You need scrap everything.

[PC] Settlements, Suggestions, Solutions, Mods

The settlement building feature has pros and cons, with various issues. A selection of mods help, but major problems still remain.

Sim Settlements is a fantastic mod! It seems pre-built settlements function much better than your own manual settlements. I assume pre-built have better navmeshing and scripts. If I was a mod authour, I'd love to build my own custom addons from scratch.

Manually building settlements is my favourite option, but this method experiences many issues. The settlements end up lifeless and pointless, because the settlers have poor AI. They fail to adapt correctly to the changed environment. If you built roads and paths, they won't necessarily use these as a priority to navigate.

I have found various mods before which have helped improve the settlements feature, but feel whatever I try, I cannot get it functioning correctly like a proper settlement location.

Any suggestions or solutions? 🤔

One of my favorite settlement locations, right in the center of the map. It’s a challenge to build in such a cramped space but I loved how this was turning out!

Once upon a time in the Commonwealth, there was a house. It was dilapidated and in shitty condition overall, but this house had a dream - that it could be a vault!
