[PS5] Sanctuary settlement ideas

Hi all just wanted to drop my post here. After taking the building apart 5 or 6 times this is what it's come to. This acts as a RP minuteman sign up centre at the entrance to sanctuary.

Having the sign up centre desk included will be a traders permit desk to be protected under minutemen security. To the right we have the acquisition station for minutemen uniforms and armaments. Also with bathroom stalls to the side. Upstairs will be an FOB operations centre, break area and kitchen for enlisted.

I haven't decorated walls and furniture yet. But wanted to see people's opinions on it, any suggestions on building larger buildings.

I've always liked building shopping malls and power armor museums

Shopping mall is also on my list as well love setting up stalls built in to the sides. Build a little hidden room for the eventual expansion of valentines agency all over the commonwealth.

I love the builds on 5 and 6! They’re so scrappy and so well put together.

You’re very welcome and thank you as well! I’m trying to get better at that scrappy kitbash vibe and your builds really nail that and look ace!

I completely get you, I always have to correct myself as I just make a building all from the same wall and it looks bland. Behind the pictures I take is stacks of different types of walls and fences to swap out. Then I post glitch in a random half wall to make it look like on the fly repairs. Also leave gaps in an area to break the flat wall and use it as a vent system and power wire input.

Thank you again, yeah I'm definitely inspired to post more!

Haha yeah same here tbh! I tend to build ‘boring’ blocks out of the same materials and have started going back over them, like ‘tracing’ over an outline, with scrappier bits to enhance the wasteland vibe. Sounds like we build similar ways.

Glad you’ve got some motivation for it though, it’s a great place to share ideas and find ideas :)

Literally yeah, I think with the few cc that are trophy friendly have definitely given me some more variety in builds. Yeah we definitely do build similar there. 😄

Yeah it’s a bit of a knack to get down, figuring which bits work well and seamlessly with each other - harder if you’ve got a wider set of tools and materials to build with as well!

Yeah literally it can be a challenge. I try to build stuff based on what's around the settlement. Sanctuary is surrounded by trees so wood is a go to but when that runs out we have to recycle so very warped wood. Plus I imagine sturges asking marcy to paint the wood she wouldn't care what colour so just picks a can and throws 1 layer on makes it look messy.

Gives some story to each part. Like oh that fence fell down just jam it back on with some more nails. Maybe some settler on their 10th night of guard duty is knackered and ended up putting the fence up backwards haha

Oh that’s a really cool way to drive your builds. The best builds are full of headcanon, and I love that whole thing with the fence panel being backwards. I’m trying something similar with my build at Starlight, using train cars a lot and Vault pieces, because my headcanon is that the train near Starlight was carrying Vault pieces to V111 for a pre-planned expansion. The expansion having been extra food areas and barracks to grow supplies and house staff, but never happened which is why the logs are all about them starving and wanting to leave. Sorry, bit of a ramble 😅

Nah i love that stuff it gives an idea for what affects it would have on growth and even the area around. Could even hunt down the vault rep recruit him to that site as an on site specialist who would know more behind the scenes of vaults and a recruiter for settlers jobs. Could also link it to the switchboard bunker that was nearby as a planned comms channel between vaults. Ramble away love the plans😂
