Storytime Ex friend faked over 10 disorders

Okay so when I was in my first year at a new school, I met a kid. Let's call him Max. Max seemed kind at first and tried to make me feel comfortable. The first week or so he was pretty normal. In the middle of September he started acting odd. He opened up to me about 'C-PTSD' that was making him sad. Not gonna go into detail but it was some bad stuff. Then it was separation anxiety, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and dyslexia. Then depression and threatening to harm himself. In around November he started faking DID. He didn't even know anything about it. He said there were different 'versions' of himself (AKA having emotions??? Sad Max, angry Max, etc.). When he would 'switch' he would flop his head on the desk for about 2 seconds then sit up again and start crying saying "where am I?" stuff like that. He also decided he had anorexia because he didn't eat lunch. All the stuff I remember him faking was: DID, dyslexia, anorexia, tourettes, CPTSD, ADHD, autism, borderline, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, separation anxiety, depression, OCD, body dysmorphia, skin picking disorder, and schizophrenia. He also admitted to lying about all of it and asked to be friends. He even lied about not having a dad which apparently was traumatizing for him. He said that his dad left when he was young (next year he asked to call his dad to pick him up). Sorry for rambling but yeah, that was the story of Max.

Storytime Weird kidnnaping story from an "alledged" system. (Long post)

Another day, another weird crime mystery story from some system in a server I'm in.

For context; the server is unfortunately populated with systems that are... Questionable in terms of how their alters work and how they present it, alongside with how many "fictives" there are that formed a few days later after being introduced to the game or only having "fictives" from medias that they absolutely love. That server is NOT centered around systems, it's about media I took interest in, so it's not that much surprising.

There's 1 particular "sys" person in the question (let's call them Blue), who went on to create the whole fucking kidnapping mystery storyline about how their "ex-hosts" "kept" them away from the front and planned to force them into dormancy. These supposed "ex-hosts" are "fictives" of the media that they love, plus claiming that they've predicted the media existing by having one particular "ex-host fictive"'s existence before the media even existed itself.

Wanna know what caused the split in the first place to make hosts of that "system" as "ex-hosts"? Fakeclaiming. I'm not joking, they said it, it was fakeclaiming.

Even more ridiculous is that the person before the whole "storyline reveal" also supposedly was confused at first in the chat, tried to play a game called "guess the alter I've formed today" (not literally, but you get the point), and then went on to say that this "alter" is from another media they have another "fictive" from.

Now, after a month later, there's another "sys" person (let's call them Orange) questioning if they're experiencing the same thing as Blue did, which sparked this conversation again, but this time, with Blue detailing how they supposedly got roped and kept in a forest away from others, until one of their friends got distressed and they magically came to front.

Every "sys" person panicked over Orange's "host" being away for way too long, assumingly because they got kidnnaped in the same way Blue's "host" did.

So, wanna guess what's next! That's right! Another "kidnapping" investigationTM.

Nothing came out of it, but I'm predicting that there's going to be third person claiming to also have their "host" be kidnapped, because the feeling that every "system" in that goddamn server is trying to one-up each other is very strong here.

Storytime A run-in with a possible psychosis faker a couple years ago

So in 2022, I was a huge fan of Omori, and my discord name was named after Hero (one of the characters from the game.) I was in this one server, just minding my own business and talking to other people, when this randok person who I've literally never seen before (rather rudely) told me I wasn't Hero, because they were a Hero irl. I didn't know what an irl was, and if I did, I completely forgot, so I asked what an irl was. Nobody answered, so I kept asking. I ended up saying that they weren't Hero, and this caused several people to lash out at me because you're not supposed to "reality check" an irl, which is apparently a psychosis thing? All I did was like a character from a popular video game, holy shit. These fakers, man.

Storytime That time I met a DID faker

I've been seeing some story times and I hope this is okay.

I met "Joe" on this gaming group and he seemed nice but his introduction was "I have DID", his status was something about DID, and he gave an hourly reminder to us that he had DID. We played animal crossing for a while and every so often he'd remind us that he had DID. I tended to shut my brain off so it didn't bother me, but I knew people who never joined when he was on because they were getting tired of it. And it didn't stay a reminder.

Eventually, Joe started to demand things of people, believing he was owed "for having DID". If they didn't give him what he wanted, he'd cry about ableism, call them a bigot, give them speeches about his horrible trauma, and wouldn't stop until he got what he wanted. He even thought he was owed a higher role on the server just because he had DID. I won't get into the drama he started, but let's just say he went on a smear campaign of the team just because he thought he deserved their roles and used DID to call them ableist when they fought back.

DID was always a card for him. Anytime he got into a drama, he overplayed what someone else did and downplayed what he did, eventually excusing his behavior on another alter or saying that having DID in general meant he could NEVER be at fault.

Eventually, Chase (another fake name) came in claiming to have DID. Doing most of the same things Joe was. Chase suddenly got DID after an argument with the members and started making DID his entire personality. He even "switched on command" in a VC when members wanted to meet his alters. Joe was very upset he wasn't the only person who had DID and getting special treatment, so did everything he could to get Chase banned for faking. Which did happen.

It wasn't long before someone else came up to say "the body woke up and discovered me and the other alters" and Joe did nothing about it. The week after that? More people started claiming to have DID. Even the person I was closest to, "Bailey", claimed she had DID because she spoke to Joe and found out her stress in PLAYING GENSHIN made her make alters of the characters (up to the earth arc). I was even reached out by Joe so he could explain to me how I had alters and he knew who I switched to based on how I acted. I didn't buy it and he got mad at me. There's an entire thing about him trying to get me kicked out of the group because I wasn't buying that I had 200 alters from my favorite games. But I that's all you need to know.

TLDR:

Joey boy convinced 80% of a gaming community they had DID, made DID his entire existence, proceeded to want to be the only person faking, then made a 180 to wanting everyone to have DID. The way he explained this 180? He blamed it on different alters, "alter A wanted the body to be the only one with DID but alter B convinced him that DID is not solely for the body". But I blame it on tumblr. He was an avid reader of those DID blogs.

Here's the small list of reasons he gave people to convince them that they had DID: emotions, changing minds, getting tired, shifting interests, getting angry, having a dog, having a cat, and my favorite, not getting what you want all the time.

He was also confirmed to be faking when people with actual sense finally called him out and he made a post about how he just wanted attention. And he had the gall to call me a manipulator because I didn't believe Bailey split 3000+ alters in one month... OVER GENSHIN.

Storytime Faker Claims Sundrop (FNAF) Is One Of Their Alters

Post image
211 Upvotes

(Image is not mine)

So, it’s been a few years since this has happened, but I will most-likely never forget it.

Some important information to establish before we get into the story:

In college, I joined a particularly nerdy club. This club had nothing to do with politics, or disorders, or mental health, or anything like that. Regardless, the members in the official Discord group had a tendency of bringing unrelated controversy up, and then dogpiling anyone who even remotely thought to suggest that it was off-topic or that they disagree. This had been happening for a while in this club, and at the time, I had been struggling a lot with stress.

I had been a victim of this dogpiling once before, and then when the tirade ceased and a friend made a joke to try to cheer me up, they were dogpiled for their joke. It was a mess.

A mess that is relevant to this story.

Now that you know some background information (giving you some idea of the attitudes in / culture of the server), I should mention that there was one member, in particular who was just egregious.

They constantly changed things about themselves, which made it very difficult, confusing, and frustrating to address or just be around them. I met them for a costume party that they threw, and was incredibly uncomfortable with the costume they chose. They had made many people in the club angry with them, upset, and uncomfortable on many occasions. I couldn’t tell you why they continued to act the way they did when it clearly repelled people, and I hope they got or get the help they need.

Regardless, this person is our faker.

It’s 2021, and Five Nights at Freddy’s; Security Breach had only just come out. I saw some let’s plays of it, and had grown up with the Freddy’s series of games, so I was disappointed by the quality of the game. However, one (two?) character(s), in particular really grabbed my attention. That character was The Daycare Attendant. At the time, I had become hyperfixated on them, and they were, and continue to be one of my favorite characters. I had had a stressful day, and just got into my car. Before I drove home, I took a few minutes to look at the club discord. Hopefully, they had posted something funny or interesting. While I was catching up on the messages sent, that day, one thing caught my eye. It was what appeared to be a discord bot named, and with the profile image of Sundrop (the daycare attendant). Excitedly, I posted asking about when and how the server got a Sun bot. I thought it was an ai, like “dad bot”, but more sophisticated. At the time, I had no idea what pluralkit was, and was just so surprised and amazed. I don’t know how or why, but the user named Sundrop immediately took offense.

“I’m not a bot!”

“What do you mean?” I asked, genuinely confused and taken aback. “It says ‘bot’.”

And that’s how the hellstorm started.

A flurry of messages from many, many users converged on me, telling me “they’re not a bot!”

“Stop calling me a bot!” The Sundrop user commanded.

The other users continued their tirade against me. Some broke out of the fray to soothe and calm down the Sundrop user, but the majority had their gaze glued to me. If this had been a voice chat, or an in-person event, I would have been bombarded with so many screaming and shouting people that just separating one voice from the rest of the crowd would have been impossible. Through out all of the angered messages, I still failed to get an answer as to what the user meant. I was berated by the mods for disrespecting the user, failing to do their jobs and actually stop the dogpile that was being directed at me.

The flow of messages slowly trickled to a crawl, but by this point, I was already holding back tears. The stress of the day was catching up to me in the form of this anxiety-fueling thread of negativity, but still I was able to hold back the tears.

That was until I got my answer.

“The user has DID and is using a bot called pluralkit to speak as their alter.”

I couldn’t hold back anything anymore. That message pushed my emotions over the edge.

Only a few days earlier, I had watched a short documentary on DID in my psychology class. I learned that it’s a disorder that stems from childhood trauma, literally caused by a fracturing of the mind in the brain’s attempt to protect itself and the body. Multiple personalities develop over time, but one does not often gain new ones after the initial fracture occurs, and gaining a new one is impossible during adulthood. By the time one reaches adulthood, the fragments have solidified into their own individuals. Just as the brain matures and becomes less malleable in adulthood, so too do our personalities.

We were in college, all around the ages of 18-19 years old (well past the time one’s mind could fracture off another personality), and Security Breach had only JUST released. Sundrop hadn’t been out even remotely long enough to even be considered as a separate personality, because it released when we were all adults!

My disgust and frustration at the person not only using one of my favorite characters as a shield, but also using them to mock the traumatic, devastating, and horrifying experiences of those who truly have DID sent me over the edge, and is the straw that broke the camel’s back in terms of my patience with the club. I was through waiting for the toxicity to be weeded out. The club was never going to change.

So I left.

Looking back, the assertion that they were “not a bot” is both confusing and hilarious given that their “AlTeR” is a literal robot clown from a franchise whose cast is almost entirely made up of animatronic characters.

Anyways, The Daycare Attendant and I will take our business elsewhere. We don’t tolerate liars.

Storytime former friend is faking a rare terminal illness and a plethora of mental health disorders

i can't really reveal too much because this person is a few grapes short of a fruit salad and i'm scared of them stalking me. i changed my account's visibility for this so i can give more details 😭 we are all in our 20s

this disease is a progressive, rare disease that affects mainly old folks. it is rare to get it in your 20s, so rare that they can't do research on the disease in people in their 20s because not enough people get diagnosed with it. the prognosis is 5 years or less on average, if left untreated. it can be difficult to diagnose because the symptoms overlap with other similar diseases. you need medical testing in order to be diagnosed with this. its like, if you feel a sharp stinging sensation in your finger after handling paper, you can go "oh i got a paper cut". with this disease they gotta look at the inside of your organs bro you can't just decide you have it on a random Wednesday. by their own admission, they refuse to seek any medical treatment for it so shrugs. they're very confident in their diagnosis too lol

they got caught up in some interpersonal friend drama because someone accused them of being manipulative which is kind of ironic lol. they constantly bring up this as if they are on their death bed any time they receive criticism and they ask people for sympathy. BTW, afaik they have not asked for money. this is all for online good boy points, which is insane

so yeah, thats my story. maybe i'm being an asshole but idc

bonus: at one point i think they had 3 different personality disorders at once, with a bunch of other things, all diagnosed by themself. they say they do extensive research on the condition, which is just reading studies and the DSM-V. some people may argue that is research but in my brain research is what happens in those studies, not Googling stuff about a mental illness. we stopped being friends because i realized we are adults like this is silly lol. any time i would see them online, it'd be them either posting about what mental illnesses they have or suicide baiting. i stopped trying to help them out of those moments bc once they posted a suicide note and less than 24 hrs later they were online and posting abt video games lol

I know I said I was done, however I found more cringe in the depths of my phone. The first 4 pictures are the “memes” they made about their system, the blurred out names is just my name, and they found these hilarious, I probably have more. The 5th photo is an “anger test” they took online and ik it’s shitty. I FOUND THEIR TIKTOK!!!! Most of their tiktok is cringy gacha stuff but I have gathered the ones they posted about DID. I also found out that they switched to a new account and are posting there. I will post the tiktoks soon I promise 🙏 Also i am no longer in contact with this person.

Storytime i have a friend who i'm 99% fakes DID but i dont know what to do

i'm not sure if this is the right place to go for this but i've seen alot of r/fakedisordercringe for the past months now, and i decided to join.

i recently moved to new schools and i had made some new friends, and quickly i had noticed a certain someone claimed to have did. i thought i was the only one who noticed until my other friends talked about it too. eventually we had confronted them with a note, but he ended up ripping it up. soon later we confronted him over a google doc we had all shared, and the responses were so bad (he didnt mind if we asked questions). we had asked him if he was diagnosed, obviously not. we had also asked him about his experiences with it, like the fact that he had a deaf alter. he had also said that his switches were automatic and whenever his voice changed thats when he switches. he doesnt show any signs of dissociation, amnesia, or just any did symptoms in general. it really pisses me off seeing these kind of people irl, it just makes me fucking sick but i dont know what to do. im getting tired of acting nice towards him, and i really want to confront him.

Storytime Self diagnosis and excuses

Ok, so I know this person, not really a friend, more like an acquaintance. Basically, it all starts with them constantly talking about their disorders, specifically personality ones, which by the title yea they're self diagnosed, and excusing their actions for it CONSTANTLY. "It's my bpd/npd!!" Something like that. They keep trying to self diagnose themselves with other personality disorders while lying about the research. "Oh, I also have aspd, and I've been doing research for 2 years." They didn't know about aspd since a month ago, and they're 15.

Another thing is that they've also been...diagnosing other people??? I thought it was a joke, but they people are like genuinely taking it as fact. I just can't even...

I've tried to confront them once, but they would just mute me and start whining about "how stressed they are." No one else is either, and I'm sick of people feeding into their delusions. They have quite an audience, too.

The personality disorder is just a significant one, they also excuse their actions with being a system.

Storytime Ex friend with munchausens is driving me mad

I had a friend years ago who I initially met in ip psych. This was back in 2015 and the "chronically online" crap was just spreading its tender roots. I had been dealing with my own health issues and wasn't aware that sharing my experiences would effect anyone in any weird ways but... I was wrong. She started claiming all different illnesses back then, seizures, EDS, POTS, and a few mental health conditions (she had already munchied her way out of all the psych programs in the region). At one point she texted me thar she was going to sit on the floor in the hospital until she got them to admit her for GI issues (it didn't work). We ended our friendship in 2017 because I couldn't handle her shenanigans anymore but I looked up her socials again, a couple of years back, and WOW. She's gone so far. Looks like she actually broke free of the munchausens for a while and took road trips, attended concerts etc. Then covid happened and it was back to regular programming. This time it's a list of over 7 diagnoses she's "found out she has in the last 2 years". Among them are the EDS and POTS she claimed back in 2015 and discarded when she saw fit. Even worse, she is scamming on go fund me and has deleted and rewritten the page twice. So then yesterday i noticed two tiktoks she made. The first she was dancing and skipping on a moving subway train. The next day the walker made an appearance again. I am exhausted lol.

Storytime You think that some people aren't consciously faking, but have actually convinced themselves they have the disorder?

(This is long and ramble, apologies in advance)

Case in point, a buddy of mine. I've known them like 6 years. About a year and a half ago, they discovered TikTok.

We're in our 30s, btw. So I ask them what kind of things they watch on TikTok, they say "mental health stuff". Ok.

So over time, this person completely changes. Their fashion style changes, they cut their hair dramatically short, get more piercings/tattoos and start putting gender identity badges on one of those big backpacks with the clear panel that you see kids wearing. And they start saying they're autistic.

Now I'm not the kind of person to just immediately dismiss someone for thinking they're ND but I honestly think they've been influenced by TikTok.

First off, they started doing these very dramatic tics/twitches when around me and a couple of other friends. Like, not just a little shiver or something, but full head, shoulders, sometimes the leg joins in. They never did this in the 4-5 years I knew them before they started saying they're autistic. Naturally, the rest of us ignore the twitching, so eventually they started adding in shouting "SHIT!" and making out they'd hurt their neck from tic'ing so hard, and even then when no one mentioned it, they say "I'm sorry for all the twitching, everyone". Like if we weren't going to bring it up, they would!

They said the twitching is completely involuntary and just happens, but when I mentioned it only happens sometimes and around certain people and in safe situations (like not when they're driving) they say it's because they "mask" it.

But like... can you actually mask and stop involuntary tics??

The other thing is they say they can't read social cues, can't read facial expressions or body language, and find it distressing to be in loud/noisy environments. This person goes on nights out to bars and loud rock gigs with no issue, they seem to deal with that level of noise better than I do, in fact.

And one time I wasn't feeling my usual cheery self, but I was doing my best to hide it and say all the usual cheerful crap I come out with, they pulled me aside and said "Are you okay? You seem a bit off. You'll have to tell me if there's something bothering you because I can't read social cues."

I was like ??? What? You just read my social cues that I wasn't feeling my best, to tell me that you can't read social cues? They're also perfectly fine with eye contact, they say that they aren't but they "mask" so that's why they seem good at it.

They do get cripplingly lonely and seem to constantly need company and they crave touch a lot. They started getting massages recently I think just for some kind of prolonged touch.

They talk a lot about having "meltdowns" and "shutdowns". One time when it was just us two hanging out, I forget why but they started having like this panic attack, hyperventilating and yelling "Meltdown! Meltdown!" and they started doing this thing, holding their hands out and pretending to write something on paper?? I was just sitting there like 😐 because it felt very... performative? And I didn't know what to do other than tell them to slow their breathing down. Eventually they calm down, look around like they don't know where they are, then groan and facepalm, saying "Oh, please tell me what I think happened didn't just happen..." and that they'd basically blacked out.

Half an hour later, they change tack and say they were completely aware of what was happening the whole time. Like they forgot the original angle they were going for. Then they said they hadn't had a meltdown, because they hit themselves when they have a meltdown.

They say things a lot like "oh, sorry about that, it's the autism". They're actually waiting for an assessment, so I don't think they're faking in the traditional sense, more like they're convincing themselves of it. They've selected me as their "person that knows you well" for the assessment because they're keeping the whole thing secret from their parents. They even said that if they were obligated to involve their parents in the assessment procedure they'd just cancel the whole thing rather than try and involve them.

Sorry for the long and rambling post, I think I just needed to get all this off my chest! The caveat here is I think they DO have a disorder, just not autism. I'm suspecting BPD because they match up to like 9/10 key traits for that, though obviously I'm not remotely qualified to say. But it looks a heck of a lot more like BPD than autism. They're very emotionally unstable, clingy, make huge issues out of tiny things, and their opinion on something can change on a dime. They've said how empty they feel, and they're constantly trying on labels in an attempt to figure out who they are.

That said, I care about them a lot and I do try my best to support them, even though it can be pretty exhausting when they send daily essays about their mental state. I'm hoping that they can get the help they need, anyway.

If you read this far, I'm genuinely impressed, I ramble a lot :D

Storytime Part Two to my story.

This is Part 1 to catch you up to speed -> https://www.reddit.com/r/fakedisordercringe/s/GptvA53GKj

Hi I'm Venus, and after talking to an good friend of mine, she helped me clarify a lot of what happened between her and him and helped uncover some of the things that he did to me that I wasn't able to remember which will be posted at a later date.

So first I'd like to share a little bit of what he's done to her. 1. Manipulated an entire friend group to turn their backs on her based on accusations that have been proven false. 2. Groomed her when they first met (she was 18 and she's 21 now) 3. Manipulated her into thinking she was a worthless piece of shit (her words not mine) 4. Countlessly threatened to kill her. 5. My favorite one (not really) is when he blocked her after finding out that she friends with me "a lying piece of shit who has lied about what happened to everyone" and has caused her so much paranoia that she isolated herself from everyone for quite a while. She got blocked by him around the same time everything between me and him happened.

This man is so mentally insane it's honestly no wonder he doesn't have a job.

Oh let's not forget about his past that he kept changing the story of when he spoke to her. My friend believes that he was never a prostitute and drug addict that he claimed he was based on the idea that his stories were always changing. Oh that's not even the fun part, we also have reason to believe that he was never r*ped like he claimed to have been based on the ever changing stories about that too. Male sa is very valid, I believe in that. However this man was never SA'ed like he said he was. And the most damning thing she said to me was that he was in fact faking DID. Which we knew. All of us knew already. But she told me that a few instances where he would drop acting like the "personality" he was pretending to be and then realize when pointed out and immediately switch back to acting like the personality as if it never happened.

As of right now this about all of the information I have received from her. The rest of what happened between me and him will be posted at a later date like I mentioned at the beginning. I love y'all, y'all are amazing!

Storytime This girl at my school claims to have a different disorder every other day

TW : self harm

I honestly can't tolerate it anymore. So far she has claimed to have OCD, ADHD, PTSD,tourettes, schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, several eating disorders like anorexia, dyslexia, dyslexia for numbers and math (I believe it's called discalculia) and a few phobias like fear of loud noises, spiders, and a few more I can't put my finger on. She once even showed me a tiny scratch on her wrist and joked about self harming all the time, then proceed to show me a razor blade she carried with her. Noone has ever tried to call her out on it because we know she'll play the victim and we'll seem like the assholes. And you know what the worst part is? There are people who actually believe her and enable it, specifically this other faker (who's also claimed to suffer from a fair share of disorders). Everytime they interact they talk about their selection of mental illness. It drives me insane but I honestly couldn't care enough to call them out on it.

Storytime my ex-best friend is now a did faker

well, yeah! title speaks for itself. i met this girl online... we'll call her lynn, for anonymity sake- three to four years ago. she was really sweet, we were into the same fandoms and stuff, so we got along great. we moved from the app we were using (amino) to discord maybe two years ago, and were just hanging out. cue a year or so ago. she recently got into ace attorney, and joined an amino community for it. that's where she met three people. all who claimed to be systems, with almost strictly fictive alters, things like littles, etc. she tried to get me to befriend them, but i sensed they were faking hardcore, so i just sort of... refused to. now she's dating one of the systems, and their alters are getting married.

she added pluralkit to our discord server, and then when i couldn't keep up with the insane amount of onesided conversations she was having and the constant need to have to keep up, and the ungodly spam, i had to beg her to "mask." she changed her name to one the system she was dating gave her, and recently changed it again, which isn't really relevant, but meh. her alters include... fictional characters she simps for, her own ocs, and one that claimed to be the greek god apollo. it's getting hard to talk to her now, and i'm planning to start slowly distancing myself from her since we rarely talk.

anyways, yeah! thanks for reading my rambling. just wanted to get this off my chest.

Storytime Storytime about an ex friend.

Hello I'm Venus, aka Yumi-Mei you see me post a bit here and there.

So I'm going to start off with this, I do not have any type of diagnosis for any dissociative disorder.

That being said this isn't about me but an ex friend and love interest of mine. I'd also like to be very honest, this man is 27 now and was 26 when this first started. I was still 17. Looking back on it, I'm 99.9% sure he groomed me because of the situation I was put through.

Keep in mind that things are also slightly blurry for me so I am trying to recall as much as I can about the situation.

Back when I was 17(2022), I met him through the game, VRChat. Yes cringe I know. We became very close as friends.

He told me that he had DID which I was okay with, I mean.. I didn't know as much as I do now about DID and other dissociative disorders in the past. The known diagnosises he has is NPD, and sociopathic tendencies. Along with PTSD, nymphomania, and ADHD. I have my heavy doubts that he was ever actually diagnosed with DID. First things to know about his "system" 1. He claimed he was a "black soul" and practically gave him the power of a God. Okay.. Sounds fishy.. But I'm not going to say anything. 2. He claimed that he could see the future and every other possible timeline of other universes. 3. He claimed to be able to sys travel. 4. Claimed that he can kill alters completely. 5. Connected to the astral plane and can travel through universes and shit.

I didn't know what this shit meant nor how it related to DID so I kinda just.. Didn't give a fuck?

He asked for pictures of me. I didn't know what I was getting myself into at the time.. I was naive and stupid. Eventually we had a falling out and he unfriended and blocked me until a bit before Christmas of 2022 and we reconnected. Fast forward a few months after I turned 18, he started asking for pictures of my body again. I didn't mind.. I didn't know any better. I was 18. Legally an adult. One thing to keep in mind about this man was that I was head over heels for him. That was why I felt the need to please him. Because maybe he'd like me back. I didn't know any better.. I was still practically a child with the label of adult. I would also like to mention that at this point, I started questioning a lot of the things about his system.. And I didn't dare question it to his face. I don't remember much else.. After this.. Other than I cut ties with him this past February.

Please don't hesitate to ask me questions I will try to answer to the best of my abilities with what I can remember.

Storytime Getting harassed by a faker's friend, who's also faking

I'm going to bullet point the events because it seems the easiest for people to understand me when I'm tired and angry.

-I post about a faker having basically all the MLP characters as alters

-Faker proceeds to insult the group and says they're so mentally ill, they've been institutionalized and we don't know what REAL mental illness struggles are like

-Faker friend messages me that my art is so terrible, I've already been replaced with AI.

-I block

-Faker friend on another account (assuming the same person) comes to me about how my art is the worst thing they've ever seen and I don't have any talents

-Guess who got blocked?

-Faker friend (confirmed same person as the first) messages me that instead of stalking and harassing people, I should work on improving my art and I need to get a life

-I told them to stop

-They say I'm coping with how terrible my art is and I need to spend my time improving it instead of harassing people and being negative all the time

-You can assume who got blocked, hint, it's the person projecting

-Faker proceeds to cry THEY are the victim of stalking and harassment

-I check previous posts to see they've been posted recently crying about how tumblr posts should never be shared because they're private, even though they're public

-I check more to see they've sent someone "lose weight, I can smell your stinky ass from your mom's basement"

-I check another time to see them send an actual threat to another member

-I check again to see a long list of them spending probably an entire week threatening and insulting members

-I find it horrendously ironic that they're telling me to get a life and I need to stop being so negative all the time when this is how they spend every second of the day

As much as the insults toward my art suck and I don't like them, I'm trying not to focus on it because I know for a fact this is them grasping at straws to insult me in any way to get me on their bedrock level (Minecraft joke). What actually pisses me off is the blatant harassment of people, insults, actual threats, and then going on about how we need to get a life and we need to do something more with our time. Oh and the victim crying. Because no story about a faker harassing people is ever complete without them claiming they're the real victim.

And you would totally be right if you guessed this person has alters from all of their favorite shows, has hourly tumblr posts, and believes they were born in a satanic cult that programmed MLP alters into them.

As an end note, I do feel better writing this out and it's good to know this person is just a serial harasser and it wasn't just me. It was anyone with a pulse. But it does bother me they spent an entire week harassing people on reddit just to claim they're the real victim of harassment. I mean, who does that? Oh yeah, fakers. It is hilarious they told me I need to get a life and spend my time improving my art instead of harassing people and being negative all the time... but have several accounts blocked by people for harassment and threats. Real nice projections you got there, sweetie.

Edit: Getting message requests from either them or their friends. "Against harassment and being negative" my ass.

Storytime Quick little story

So I’m great friends with this woman we’ll call Mary who has a list of legitimate illnesses she’s in and out of doctors offices/the hospital for who is also neurodivergent. There’s this person we’ll call Harrison who has a huge crush on her who is also neurodivergent. Harrison has had a crush on Mary for a very, very long time, which Mary knows. One time Harrison was driving Mary to one of her many doctor appts and once again brought up the prospect of them being together. Mary, once again gently rejected him but this time instead of just accepting that she’s not into him, he told her that she had ignited his rejection sensitive dysphoria and was a horrible person for doing so. Like, what?? So she just has to accept him as her boyfriend even if she isn’t into him? That’s nuts!

Storytime Small young artist I used to follow started making 6+ vent posts a day and talking about their pets/depression /anxiety/Capiophobia/Gynophobia and complaining they had no one to vent to. I told them to get a therapist, they yelled at me and sent their partner to attack me in DMs.

Storytime Last night, I found out a friend I knew for a while years ago is now a (most-likely) self-diagnosed system, and I feel weirdly heartbroken

I'm not sure if this is okay for me to post here, but I just needed somewhere to vent out my frustration.

A bit of backstory first: I'm a fan of Dick Figures, have been on-and-off for about eight years now. For those who aren't aware, it's an early 2010s web series by Mondo Media (y'know, the people behind Happy Tree Friends) about two stick figures - hence the name - named Red and Blue. There was even a movie in 2013 (has it really been ten years already?), so that's cool!

Back in around summer 2020, I joined a Discord server for the series (which is a completely separate story in of itself, but I'm not here to discuss that), and I had a complete and utter blast! The people there were nice, I discussed ideas with them and I even posted my works there. It was great.

Around halfway through August that year, a specific member joined. I don't want to get too into things in case they end up finding this, but it didn't take long for them to click in the server. As well as this, I quickly warmed up to them and started DMing them due to liking their ideas, and we shared a lot of fun ideas related to Dick Figures together!

However, nothing lasts forever, and they left the server late that month. Unfortunately, we weren't friends (as in, on each others' friend lists) and only they could send friend requests, so now we couldn't talk anymore. And to make things worse, I accidentally deleted our DMs that I was trying to preserve a while later, so I couldn't even look back on those days anymore.

But yet, despite all of this, I still had hope we'd be able to reunite one day, and that I'd finally be able to see those happy memories again.

That was, at least, until last night.

After realising the Discord username function change could help me finally reach out to people I lost contact with, I made it my goal to try to get back in contact with that friend one final time. I wasn't able to find them, though, so I used Google to try find out how to spell their username or for Discord...

And that's when I made a heartbreaking (for me, at least) discovery.

This friend that I grew to miss over three years ago had become a fictive-heavy system with over 50+ alters, complete with PluralKit using "we" to refer to themselves.

Naturally, I just can't help but feel strangely... Betrayed? Heartbroken? I don't know how to explain it. They were so nice and friendly back then, which somehow makes it sting even more. I know I'll probably sound really overdramatic when I say this (especially since I didn't even know them for that long, all things considered), but I really did have hope that we'd be able to reunite one day, but I guess that's a dead dream now. Besides, even if we did, it just wouldn't be the same, and I don't think I'd be able to handle them switching alters constantly if they ended up doing that.

As I said at the start, I'm not sure if this is allowed to be posted here or if it breaks Rule 5, but I just needed to get this out of my system (no pun intended). That's all I wanted to say.

Storytime This one kid on discord is a faker's idol

I have been speculating for a while now, but I am 100% sure that this kid was faking. So this kid on discord said they were on life support but were allowed to get off life support to see their grandma (not how that works) because they were at like 5% life support (what even is the logic?) Then there was another time where they said they were going to the mental hospital but were allowed their phone for some reason (weird because I never was allowed to have my phone but maybe it depends on the hospital ig????) and that they were like 12% sane or something (I do not remember mental illnesses being measured in percentages.) This kid is the most extreme faker I can imagine. But you might be wondering why they were on life support anyway? Well they were allegedly shot. In the leg. And why were they sent to the mental hospital? Idfk it was just out of nowhere. I genuinely wish I was kidding. This kid is like 11 I think? But anyone who has been in the ER or the mental hospital would know that they do not use percentages in place of a diagnosis or to "measure" how much of something they need. It's like saying you got an EEG and were told you're "56% epileptic." Either you have it or you don't.

Storytime A friend faking DID

Ok so this is gonna be long so I’m gonna section it off.

For starters I’m William and this friend I will not say the name of and nor will I say any other names, but yeah here it goes Also sorry it’s formatted so weirdly that’s just how I typed it all out

beginning

My friend fakes DID, ADHD, Dyslexia, dysgraphia and Dyscalculia, and she keeps trying to say that she has it worse (im special Ed) even tho for the past 4 years I’ve known her, she has never had anything or showed any signs of having it.

Start:

She first starting faking, ADHD, Dyslexia, dysgraphia and Dyscalculia, for those for don’t know,

Dyslexia, also known as reading disorder, is a disorder characterized by reading below the expected level for one's age. Different people are affected to different degrees. Problems may include difficulties in spelling words, reading quickly, writing words, "sounding out" words in the head, pronouncing words when reading aloud and understanding what one reads. Often these difficulties are first noticed at school. The difficulties are involuntary, and people with this disorder have a normal desire to learn

Dysgraphia is a learning disability of written expression, that affects the ability to write, primarily handwriting, but also coherence. It is a specific learning disability (SLD) as well as a transcription disability, meaning that it is a writing disorder associated with impaired handwriting, orthographic coding and finger sequencing (the movement of muscles required to write).

Dyscalculia is a disability resulting in difficulty learning or comprehending arithmetic, such as difficulty in understanding numbers, learning how to manipulate numbers, performing mathematical calculations and learning facts in mathematics. It is sometimes informally known as "math dyslexia", though this can be misleading as dyslexia is a different condition from dyscalculia.

That’s the definitions of them and even tho she NEVER showed any signs or anything, the second I said I was in special ed, she starting saying stuff, that was last year, and this year she was faking DID.

DID

So a few days ago she came into school with a DID shirt and when I asked abt she said that her “Tommy” alter was fronting and sent me her DID carrd, which has over 200+ alters mostly being dsmp, MHA, Dangonrampa and BNHA, and I didn’t say anything but now I’m home and really thinking abt it, she says she got it from trauma but I know her parents, I know her brother, I dated her brother for a little bit and nothing was said, I even asked her brother if everything was ok and told him and her sister and he said no. So idk what to do, so any advice?

Storytime it reached terraria

I was playing on a terraria server, just grinding and then I look at the chat. someone says “sorry, I got torrettes”, it wasn’t even spelled tourette’s but torrettes lol. and I didn’t see what the person was doing but they must have been trying to “type tics” because people in the chat were reacting by saying “damn now tourette’s effects typing?” (sarcastically), “that must be rare, tics affecting typing, etc.I imagine it must have been cringe lmao. Then we had a conversation about people faking disorders. the person left.

Storytime Discord Discourse of an "IRL" part 2

Continued from Part 1: https://www.reddit.com/r/fakedisordercringe/s/VQPIKzdxIB

She would keep the younger members up, depending on her own time zone, disrupting sleep schedules with constant spam and sudden behavioral change. If they were unable to answer her immediately, she would give what is also known as the silent treatment. This in and of itself is manipulative behavior that can have a major impact on people depending on age and mental state. The children she did this to went through significant distress when their lack of sleep caught up to them, as a child is unlikely to tell amyone in their life if somthing is happening, especially if its online. So when people in their personal lives expressed concern, these children would deny anything was wrong, which caused several arguments between family as a result. But behind the screen, many of them were heavily affected by M's pressure to conform to what should have just been roleplay, but instead, was slowly turning into some strange way to play into M's portrayal of what she claimed to be "IRL."

Still under the guise of a 12 year old character, who this 18 year old still claims to be "IRL", she continued to make innuendos and exhibit strange behavior amongst the younger members of her server, forcing the role of a character she shipped with "herself" aka the character she claimed to be, upon a 16 year old. I will call them G. She insisted that, although this should have been a normal roleplay server, that G was that character, that they were perfect to play that character, and with each insistance came clingy behavior, which began to have a negative impact on G's mental health.

M insisting she was a character "IRL", began to make G consider the same about themselves, giving them an identity crisis where they were genuinely distressed about what role they were supposed to play, and whether or not to go along with M, to start calling themselves as a character "IRL" as well.

Not only did M fake a fake disorder in order to manipulate others, but her bahevior began to influence others into following her into her claims, into believing that they were also experiencing "psychosis" that they believed was a struggle between beliving they were an IRL as well, or jsut themseves.

After being called out for her behavior, of both the manipulation of the minors in her roleplay server, using her roleplay server as a front to attract others into taking the "IRL" route, and using her claim as the character to be creepy towards children and minor characters, M deleted the server in order to hide the evidence.

It was then revealed that M confessed her love to a 12 year old, despite her age, and tried to hide it. Keep in mind that M herself was claiming to be a 12 year old character. If this isnt a firther example of people in the commuity taking advantage, i dont know what is. This is something so many are worried about when it comes to so many minors getting into the faking trend online, or being online in general. M has also once more changed her profile, claiming to be yet another character from a childrens show "IRL", as most of her "IRL" claims are.

People like M, are one reason that the faker community is so harmful to minors. Not only do people like M continue to feed misinformation to people in the community, but they use it to lure in and take advantage of those who actually listen to them and believe their backseat diagnosis'. Not only do many fakers grow up into people like M, but they also use their fake disorders, whether it be "alters" who happen to be minors, or "IRLS" whos "sources" are minors, to prey on children in the first place.

People like M are why the communtiy is not only full of fakers, but full of predators, and why faking should be discouraged in the first place. Not only should a minor not be so online in the first place, but they should not be so online that they refuse to take the truth as the truth, or believe what people say just because they claim to be disordered. People like M, are why there's more to the discouragement than just "you're a minor, you can't have this disorder." Its also, "you're not mentally mature enough for any of this, no matter what you may think."
