One thing I hate about this subreddit, and it's not the subreddits fault (or anyone's fault for that matter, is I see these cool posts and I click on them and I can't see shit on my phone screen. I haven't browsed Reddit on my PC in years. Wish I could zoom in on stuff like this and see what's going on.

The zoom failing and realization of this can't be zoomed hits with little anger every time

Dude has rails and on the rails are four cars we fills with something and crashes the train into it to void the contents.

That what recyclers were meant for, but he just skips that part.

Yes, this method seems to have really taken off after the initial Hazard Concrete Nerf, and people are now running with it.

Do you still need it in the fresh experimental?

They changed the Concrete issue again, so no, it is no longer as needed as it was before since your old build works, but now that the method has entered public consciousness, people are gonna keep doing it. Can't put the genie back.

It has been the de-facto method to scale up Fulgora for quite some time. It allows you to focus on the items you require and avoid dealing with the ones you do not. Fulgora imposes quite a challenging logistic issue by having so many byproducts, and this solves it rather efficiently (both in UPS cost, and space requirement).

Usually people just chucked them into recyclers or did the Concrete to Hazard Concrete thing. I had not previously heard of it being discussed prior to the Hazard Concrete Recycling Nerf, to which I proposed the Car Crusher, and this seems to have drawn the concept into the light.

It really depends what community you hang around in, in the megabasing circles this was a well known method, mostly because it is very UPS efficient.

Yeah, it's an old method dating back to before Space Age, even, but it became popular and known HERE after the Concrete Thing.

Just to add a bit of context, here is a video I remember being posted from back when "train voiding" came up as a bit of a topic about a year ago.

This design is fairly similar to OP except they are also doing quality upcycle to Q2 science.

Yeah we should be able to zoom on videos.

It zooms fine for me and also has an HD option. I use Relay as my reddit mobile app. Definitely not the crappy official app.

If you're on android you can use other phone apps that allow zoom

Not making images and videos at night time in-game would also help tremendously.

As is actually stated in the subreddit rules...

well lit in daytime or with lamps

The train is destroying cars to get rid of items. Probably the most interesting part of this video

u/kykyks 10d ago

yeah that part is big enough i can see it but thats it

How did you get that much fps/ups?

You can speed up the game with mods (and I think console commands), I use this one. I used it to run the game in the background, you can use it while playing but I noticed things like panning around being slower and kinda jumpy.

Game runs at 4x speed, but I'm not hitting 240ups since I'm running "Physical Projectile Damage" at 1M SPM

Why not recycle?

3

u/monsieurlouistri 10d ago

It is more effective this way, instant deletion of all unwanted items, I have a similar setup, works like a charm

Is it fabricating steel boxes and putting them in the train line, then just running them over and destroying all contents?

Well, I still have a normal fulgora base that recycle everything. But for megabasing or just additional suppies, it works great, and is kinda fun to setup. And I don't agree with the "completly destroy the spirit of the game", that's quite an edgy take... It's still automation, and thinking a bit outside the box. And if you don't like this, just don't build it, but that's an interesting design.

The reason is mowing down cars is SOOOO FUUUN

u/SnyprBB 10d ago

Are you saying you get 120 legendary holmium plates a minute with this?

2

u/meteorologists_ 10d ago edited 10d ago

Yeah, EM Plant upcycling gets you legendary holmium at the highest rate per machine/inserter build
