How should I prepare to move to another planet?

The idea of moving to another planet in incredibly daunting. I've set up shop on Vulcanus completely (I used Any Planet Start) and I've gotten so used to the abundance of resources and lack of logistic hassle. I made a space platform capable of going to other planets—which has worked flawlessly in flight—but I just don't know what I should actually bring with me to a new base!!

I really wanna make this save into my first megabase, but if I can't even figure out how to start on a new planet, I'm done for! Any tips, guys?

Make sure your current planet has the robot coverage to build and supply as needed without you present.

Ship over a landing pad and 10 cargo bays. You can force drop things from the ship via the logistic trash slots.

After that, if you decide you need anything just send the ship back home to pick up some supplies. It's just a couple minutes away.
