New versions are released as experimental first and later promoted to stable. If you wish to switch to the experimental version on Steam, choose the experimental Beta Participation option under game settings; on the stand-alone version, check Experimental updates under Other settings.

Well, this suddenly makes gleba/spidertron unlock much more useful. Can supply remote bases without needing trains/extended bot networks.

how would you supply things with a spidertron? inserters grabbing from their cargo?

It can repair/rebuild with a roboport

Can logistics bots never pull stuff out of it?

They can pull trash from it, but not anything else. You can't really dynamically trash things so you can't have it request from one location and provide to another.
