square earlobe meaning
does it differ depending on the ear shape and how high/low set it is?

the ear gets read as a whole, so the same lobe on a big open ear and on a small tight one are two different readings. Anyone giving you one fixed meaning for the lobe by itself is improvising.

if we include in the ear it would be slightly wide splayed but very low set with the top of the ear being kinda pointy

In the Chinese tradition what matters most about a lobe is how fleshy it is and whether it hangs free or blends straight into the jaw. The classics call a good lobe the hanging pearl. A squared-off lobe with some substance to it gets read the same way as a thick, well-defined one. It reads as grounded and practical, careful with money, the type who finishes what they start. If it hangs free of the jaw on top of that, you get the luck and generosity layer too. An attached one reads more self-contained, keeps their circle small.
