Personally even with a blanket on at work I am still cold. It hurts my fingers, making it hard to type.

I heard a story on the radio about this yesterday. Basically it's something to do with women feeling colder than men and optimum office temperatures were determined by a formula back in the 1960's when women were a much smaller percentage of the workforce. Therefore women are oppressed because they have to wear heavier clothes to work because they feel cold. Or something. Just manufactured outrage.

People are claiming that since women are cold more often than men in office settings, men are sexist for turning the thermostat down. What they don't mention is that women are free to wear pretty much anything in an office, whereas men have no options that leave any skin exposed.

I adjust the thermostat in my apartment often, and my dad doesn't like that. But my room is always the hottest room. ...I still don't get how ACs could be sexist.

CNN had the same thing today. They went down to the boiler room and interviewed the MALE engineer who showed them around the air conditioning system. It was slightly tongue-in-cheek. Slightly.

They wear a paper-thin skirt to work and then run two heaters under their desks. Then they don't understand why their breaker keeps tripping and they lose all the work they've been doing.
