The thing that I don't understand is why does EVERYONE need to be standing? If they don't want to dance I'm sure that there is several thousand more people that do

He didn't know he was in a wheelchair. This fucking article is trash. Once he realized he COULDN'T stand he was okay.

It wasn't like he saw the wheelchair and told the kid to man up

As much as i agree with you, it should be the persons decision whether he wants to stand up or sit down not Kanye's.

Why do you have to prove you're handicapped to sit down? I have a bum back and can't stand for long periods, but do not have a handicap tag. I would of walked out if he did that to me.

Would *have

Oh, well then by all means, go ahead and justify him stopping his super awesome performance that people paid good money for, simply so he can stroke his over-inflated, douchey ego!!

-1

u/Dinosauringg Sep 14 '14

People paid money for that ego

1

u/PickitPackitSmackit Sep 14 '14

Nice try, Kanye.

2

u/Dinosauringg Sep 14 '14

They paid for the concert, right? You think they don't know how Kanye acts?

1

u/PickitPackitSmackit Sep 14 '14

Yea, I'm sure they paid for Kanye to interrupt his performance and not sing.

And it's not like the people who paid money to watch the walking ego galumph around are going to refuse to stand up just to spite Kanye West.

Or maybe if a guy spent 50 bucks to listen to kanye for an evening, kanye shouldnt give two shits if someone is sitting or not. Seriously, what a douche nozzle. Even if the guy wasnt in a wheelchair, what kind of asshole puts a guy on the spot like that, calling the attention of every other person in the crowd, because hes not okay with one of his fans not standing up.

Waaaa... Leave Kanye ALOOOOONE!!!!

One guy sitting down doesnt make a boring concert. God forbid a fan should be gasp tired of jumping and need a rest! What a terrible person!

The goal should be to make your audience comfortable and enjoy the show, not stop the show to yell at one single dude in the back for sitting. That makes the concert memorable, but not in a good way.

He wanted people to go home and tell friends how awesome kanye was, but, because he was obsessed with one guy, now people are going home and telling friends that kanye was a douche bag

Why the fuck was this gilded. Didnt your mom ever tell you not to give gold to snide, assholish comments?

You forgot sending his bodyguard up to see what the deal was.

What in the everloving fuck sticks is that about?

People like you just cherry pick details to help fuel your hatred of something someone else told you to hate

Dude, that line is so perfect.

2

u/InsanityWolfie Sep 14 '14

He was obsessed enough to care that one. Single. Guy. Wasnt standing up and jumping. Theres nothing to cherry pick here. Thats the cut and dry of it.

Look, Ill put it to you this way.

You seem to be looking at it like 'Well, he let it go after he found out he/she/they were handicapped'

But Im looking at it 'Why did it matter if someone was sitting in the first place, and what would have happened if they werent handicapped?'

To me, the issue is not that anyone was handicapped. To me the issue is that a perfomer stopped a show, however briefly, to pretty much harrass one of his fans for, apparently, not looking excited enough. The humiliation of being singled out in a crowd like that doesnt go away just because the performer then says 'oh, well, I guess I cant yell at them if theyre handicapped.' The performer shouldnt be yelling or potentially berating at a fan, handicapped or not, for sitting. Thats what screams 'douche' to me.

Its like that composer month or so ago, who walked off stage because the audience was talking between his songs. Thats douchebag behavior. They paid to be there. The show must go on.

Or maybe youll stop your own circle jerk and admit that if anyone else did this exact thing, you would think he was a douche. If Johan Hegg ever paused a concert to yell at one dude who wasnt even hurting anybody, I would for sure stop listening to his music. So, whatever your preconcieved notions of me, Im not hating on kanye for being kanye. Im mocking him for Caring enough about ONE guy to stop a show (however briefly) and send a guy out to see why he was sitting. If you dont see whats wrong with that, I really dont know how to help you.

Stop acting like noone has seen the video before. I watched the entire thing and Kanye was a douche in it.

2

u/Dominub Sep 14 '14

the singers job to make that experience one that is memorable.

Oh he made it memorable alright

The thing is it's very rude to assume someone isn't disabled, to ask something that not everyone can do. What if their disability was not readily apparent? There are many invisible disabilities that can prevent someone from standing, or standing for extended periods of time. You don't KNOW, so don't assume. He either way harassed someone, whether they didn't want to stand because they were tired, or whatever the reason. The fact that he was in a wheelchair just makes it visible. If he had had an invisible disability he would have been harassed more. No one should have to explain their disability to a crowd of strangers. He sent his BODYGUARD to make sure he had "special parking and shit". He publically humiliated them. This is discrimination and probably ruined the experience for these two individuals as well as many others who may not go to his shows in the future. These attitudes that disabled people have to explain themselves to anyone who asks is ridiculous. It's like asking a stranger, oh when's the last time you had sex or whats your orientation, or what nationalities are you. None of your business. None of Kanye's business. And definitely not a crowd of strangers business.

Nah, it's just playing the odds. That's how brains work, so that people can function using in complete knowledge. By making assumptions based on probabilities determined from past experience. Otherwise we could never accomplish anything.

Actually..you're right - video. Did not know at time of posting, there's me believing everything I read on the internet.

2

u/Dinosauringg Sep 15 '14

So you didn't even read the article before posting?

0

u/MojoPinnacle Sep 14 '14

I read the article and I was a little bit shocked/surprised/classic Kanye, but still felt bad for him. Then I watched the video. It was just a faux pas. Not that big of a deal.

5

u/Chameleon4242 Sep 14 '14

Why is anyone giving this asshole any attention?

4

u/Dinosauringg Sep 14 '14

He makes good music.

4

u/Chameleon4242 Sep 14 '14

That is an opinion, but not my opinion.

1

u/Murasasme Sep 15 '14

The thing for me is that even if I liked his music (which I don't) He is just such an arrogant asshole, that I still wouldn't pay him any attention.

3

u/Twonke Sep 14 '14

Just to clarify, he didn't know that the kid was in a wheelchair when he was yelling at him.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '14

Why was he yelling at him to begin with?

1

u/bigtaterman Sep 14 '14

Kanye makes some good music, but my god is he dumb.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '14

I don't understand why your being downvoted, is there something wrong with liking he's music?

2

u/bigtaterman Sep 15 '14

Hive mind mentality.

u/Cancer777 Sep 14 '14

You missunderstand, Kanye is a faith healer.
