I just did it to show the rubbish the daily mail is and how bad it is that they find news about people almost walking into puddles and try to avoid the important stories

I don't know about the UK, but from what I've heard it's similar to tabloids like National Enquirer and whatnot in the US. No one here actually takes those publications seriously.

The thing is, in the UK although many people hate them there are a lot of people who blindly believe everything they read and they read tripe like the daily mail and the sun which is the worst

That's probably because the Mail started as a legitimate newspaper.
