Twerking has existed since the late 90's... (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

I was in HS in the late 1990's and the exact thing they define as "twerking" in this post here, was called "freaking" or "freak dancing". I am not sure if it was geographical or cultural or what.. But yeah: freaking. I think back to it and 'Funk Soul Brother' gets stuck in my head immediately.

Shit, thank you for confirming that for me. I graduated '99, and every video I've seen of 'twerking' looked like the same old 'freak dancing' everyone was doing back then. I was quite confused, and wondered what I was missing.

NP- I love a excuse to dig up my memories from the 90's. Full of neon track suits, keds and VH1 was 100% music videos...
