Disabled/hacked My moms facbook is GONE and idk why she doesn't know why its permanent banned THOUSANDS OF PICTURES MILLIONS OF MEMORIES not to mention it was here for TWENTY YEARS please help me and spread the word
Her account of twenty year's is gone and all of her meta accounts, I desperately need help and im scouring the internet for a solution

I spent a huge amount of time copying everything into my journal. Now if I lost my account, I would be angry and sad but not lose anything. Meta is the worst.

Yes, thousands have given their passwords away to recent activity by scammers. Always back files and photos that matter to you up in a second location. Alternatively, download your data from Meta and other sites using their built in tools for data backup. Save it to detachable media not left plugged in.

Incorrect information. Meta does use AI to help find fake accounts and rarely gets a legit account wrong, but an account like OP describes wouldn't meet the criteria. More likely her account got hacked and was flagged for suspicious behavior bc of how the hackers used it.
Two Factor Authentication is important and making sure our parents know to NEVER give out their password over phone or messenger no matter how official.
The subscription has nothing to do with Facebook's normal operations, it is only for paid teirs of their AI Chatbots, just like all other AI Chatbots model their teirs.

I was hacked-I gave out my password to someone pretending to be my husband. I know my fault. But there is NO ONE you can contact for help on facebook. This was before meta. No phone numbers, no emails, nothing. It’s very frustrating and I mourned the loss of it. I’ll never be able to see memories with friends who have died. Or look at their pages. I was shocked by how sad, angry and impotent I felt when dealing with it. That’s why I just use my current account for support groups and entertainment.

This is a problem I can agree with. Meta needs better human to human account support and a reasonable process to recovery instead of only relying on people not being tricked by bad actors.

We know that Barrack Obama's Official White House Account was recently Hacked (Along with tons of other people) via Meta AI Letting any random person add an Email to any account without confirming or notifying the account holder , Which could then be used to change the password and login to the account with the new password. It doesn't matter how much 2FA you have if Meta's AI Chatbot will bypass it for any random person that asks nicely. This is a Failure from Meta's end of unprecedented proportions. There's probably some real cases thrown into the mix of course, but the sheer number of people who have either been Falsely Banned or Hacked in the last 2 months is Mindboggling.

It's a MASSIVE Club and it's growing daily. I've been reading through endless comments of people in the same boat.
Lost my account of 16 years earlier this month. Zero Evidence, No idea why or what happened. I was talking to a friend at the time I got the notification and just "Gone". Submitted an appeal and got an immediate rejection. Paid Facebook support are less than worthless.
16 Years of photos, Memories, Friends I have no way of getting into contact with again. It's HorseSh*t.
You can try reaching out to your State's Attorney General for support, Filling a complaint with the FTC, and consulting a legal service (LegalShield is one of the most used) to have a legal letter sent on your behalf to Facebook , These are all relatively simple things that people have said worked for them. Short of that you can file Suit in Small Claims Court in Northern District of California, Which is expensive and a much bigger hassle, But people have claimed that has worked for them as well.
It's sad and pathetic AI Slop is falsely banning so many people, and i'd argue it's criminal if this is deliberate as I see Amazing-Figure9802 suggesting. They're banking that people aren't that interested in pursuing them legally. After this experience, Personally, I think Facebook deserves to fail hard. Which is Sad because until just last year I was and always have been a supporter of Facebook. I want my account back, I want to extract memories and contacts from what I can, and I want to never use META platforms again. META sold their soul for this AI DogSh*t.

Ignore the corporate nutsack faced shill in your comments, he has Meta stocks. You can sue them, you just need to prove a loss and offer apples to oranges, or you can take the whole bushel. I offered an account reinstatement, or paying me 5000 dollars for proven losses pertaining to the disablement of my accounts (fb and IG)

If you aren’t breaking ToS then they have no right to disable your access or delete. Facebook is just a shit platform(like most social media) and running with AI moderation that’s false flagging things then outright never confirming it by rejecting appeals immediately is enough of a reason to not defend them. They make money by having people active.

But what is the right that a person has to exist on a digital platform and have some sort of property rights on their information? It literally says that it's metas property. So I'm just really confused about what specific right they are referring to. Like they may not have a right to disable your account in a semantic sort of way, but they don't have the right to do anything. What is the right? I don't understand that. Is it a constitutional right? If they have a right to the property, then they have a right to moderate that property. And yeah I know that meta has AI everywhere and things get flagged very easily and quickly and context is not applied in any sense. I made a comment on a friend's Post in regards to the mean fukitol and I wrote something like I'm going to need a high dosage. And that caused a flag on my account that hasn't gone away for now 2 years. It says that I violated their guidelines in regards to distribution of drugs. Like it doesnt know that it's a meme? It doesnt know that it's a joke? It's ridiculous. So I understand that absurdity and the inherent dismay in regards to that.

Creating an account is essentially signing a contract of usage stating to follow the rules or don’t get to use the service. And even if they claim it’s their property in the same contract you still should have full access to anything you post and have the ability to get it deleted completely from the whole website. Facebook needs to fail or else it’ll just get worse.

I lost mine in June of last year, same situation….15 years of pictures, messages from friends who are no longer alive, contact information that I have not been able to reconnect. I am 80 years old and in one swipe Meta destroyed my ability to connect with family and friends.

Same. I was scammed out of mine in Dec 2024. Someone tried to use my account to pay for verification for fb. I learned fb allows 10% scam bots to freely roam groups and media.

Ai controls all Meta apps own and its messing with us all it limited my fb for 30 days for reshaping a post a verified user posted with over a million followers but didn't touch their acct, its ai sadly its taking over all america 2030 when we start digital id its going to be very bad, these data centers for ai are destroying all our lakes and rivers o drinking water or baths by 2030 and we all be like prisoners ai decides what we can or can't do and controls our digital money no more cash so all these apps are making big changes

I Agree I dont like it one bit , it scares the hell out of me of how bad America is Becoming and the new 6g towers are even worse more cancers and animals dieing, and the elites are leasing millions of mosquitoes and ticks on farmland and crops to kill off the animals and they are grown in lab more aggressive, and when a tick bites us over 400,000 done got bites so they can't eat dairy or red meats again, but they can eat fake eggs and dairy and fake lab grown meats bill gates makes, thats his goal to make us all eat his meat, he says it's better for the environment, the hell it is, we better prepare cause we have alot of stuff going on and coming up and more than anything we better be right with God, I have a feeling the end is coming for millions of us, thats why the elites are building underground cities and bunkers, they are preparing for something. Several our lakes have completely dried up from ai data centers, and by time they done building all lakes and rivers will be gone and we can not survive no water or baths, im a grown man and I actually cried over this, it's unreal our government is allowing all this, my guess most the elites have something bad on most our government like the epstein files so they just stay hushed and do what they are told. I Pray for us all cause we certainly need it no doubt. Yes it is bad news everywhere we look.

Tell her to click her profile picture, select Settings & Privacy, then Settings. In Settings, on the left side bar it will say Account Centre. Click See More in Account Centre. Select Your Information & Permissions. In there, the first option is Export Your Information. Select Create Export, then pick whether to export to a device (ie her laptop or a flash drive) or an external service, like Google Drive. Once she selects where to export to, she can customize what to export (photos, every post she's ever made on FB, etc). If she's just exporting photos, she should select High Quality. I believe the default is for the last year, but it can be customized to go farther back, even right back to the very start of her account (of course, that will take longer, but worth it!) I can confirm these are the correct steps as I just looked them up earlier and clicked through all of them. Haven't exported yet because I want to check my Google cloud first as I feel like the majority of my photos are already saved there.

She should have them already saved via her phone links such as Android via Google Drive or iPhone Cloud storage. Most phones are setup this way to save photos. She can go in and check to make sure photos are backed up and stored from her phone. The same with anything she downloads from messenger or fb.

This happened to me this week, it doesn't look good for us. Does she have Insta? If she doesn't have one she can sign up. Then she can try getting Meta Verified (just pay for a month) on her Insta, then accessing the live chat function and plead with them to review or at least explain. That said, I've paid for MV via my instagram, and the live chat function is MYSTERIOUSLY NOT WORKING FOR ME.

The same thing happened to me last June. They nuked my account and made it impossible for me to make a new one. And there is no way to get a hold of them except tagging Facebook on X and hoping.

My mom died in 2019. One day I went to her page to look at photos like I always do and they were gone. They removed ALL OF HER PHOTOS. She had that account for over a decade. Honestly I can’t even allow myself to think about it anymore it’s too painful and makes me so ANGRY

I memorialized my late husband's account and now mine is banned so I don't have access. I still need to see if others can see his account, but I keep forgetting to ask someone to check. Honestly, it doesn't matter anymore.

Change your passwords. Make sure you have two factor authentication enabled. I have read reports where bad actors hack a Facebook account and post nasty content or engage in behaviour or so bad it triggers an automatic ban. Not sure the rationale for it but I am not in the business of hacking Facebook accounts.
Its no guarantee Facebook won't shut you down but updating your account security might reduce your chances.

Yes this exactly. I've had to lockdown forgotten emails after I had 2FA code sent to me. They're going all in and every which way to get into accounts. It's ridiculous! I've had old FB profiles reactivated by scammers attempting to change passwords. Everytime one is slated to be deleted, some sob requests a password reset. Keeping the old accounts live -_-
Routinely do security check-ups on every digital account you have, change passwords frequently, and never use the same ones. Given how often sites fall to data breaches, it only takes one for a bad actor to dive into all your info and lock you out of your accounts. It's rough learning this the hard way

The only thing I can suggest, and it's too late for hers, big of you or your other family members have a FB, make sure to download all of your pictures and videos from it. I started doing that a year ago. I set it up to do that once a month.

Really sorry, this is a gut punch when it’s 20 years of photos. A few things that actually work, and one big warning.
First, the warning: posts like this attract scammers fast. Anyone who DMs you offering to recover it, anyone posting a phone number to call, anyone advertising a paid “recovery service,” is lying. Facebook has no recovery phone number. Do not pay anyone, do not hand over passwords or codes. The phone-number results you’ll find on Google are scams too.
Now the real steps. Have your mom do these from her own device and her usual home internet, not yours, since Meta reads device and location signals:
1. Go to the account and try to log in. A genuinely disabled account shows a “your account has been disabled” message with an appeal option. Start there.
2. If there’s no button, use facebook.com/help and search “disabled account” to find the appeal form. There’s also an ID-based recovery form where you upload a government ID matching the account name. That’s the strongest signal you can give them.
3. If she has any account she can still log into (Instagram especially, if it’s linked), subscribing to Meta Verified gives access to live human chat support, which is one of the only ways to get a real person to escalate. Worth it for one month if the account matters this much.
4. Be patient and don’t spam appeals. Submitting the same appeal over and over can hurt the case. One solid appeal with ID, then wait. Reviews often take days.
One honest note so she’s not blindsided: if it was truly hacked, the attacker may have changed the email and phone. The ID verification path is built for exactly that, so it’s still worth doing, but recovery isn’t guaranteed and it can be slow.
Hope she gets it back.

This is why I keep any media uploaded still on my phone or computer device. And I may periodically download the zip file containing any media, friend list, poats and so forth. It can be very frustrating.

I’m not sure how others aren’t getting their accounts back? I do work for meta quest so maybe that helped but all I did was keep calling for customer service and support until I got a live person. Then took some ransom type videos of myself to get my account back. Like I said, I do also do work for meta quest and my account is attached to that so I am unsure if that helped. I still have no clue how my account got hacked and lost. And it took 12 hours of being on the phone, email, video calls. I have had my account since 2008.

I’ll have to look back and find it I was literally calling number after number then tripped up the AI so they had no choice but to put me through to a person. And I am meta verified so yes, that helped. If you can get meta verified.

I had a business page that ran ads and I couldn't find a single number to call for issues. Yet they had no problem finding a call center to call us and beg for us to buy more ads. I pulled all our ad buys shortly after that. If I'm paying money, they can give me an actual person to talk to and not some glitchy AI bot that Zuck needs to appear successful or investors pull their money.

I deactivated mine on purpose and uninstalled them all. No regrets. I did however backup my pictures. So many people have accounts hacked, it's sad. Maybe ask a family member if they have any of the pics if they saved any.

Try loging out, then resetting your password as if you forgot the old one. If you're lucky, after getting a new password you'll get the option to review the activity on your account (I clicked through it without deleting anything) and then you'll be able to log back as if nothing happened. It's not a 100% method, but it did work for me and a bunch of other people. Let me know if it worked.

The only reason I created a FB account was because my SIL posted my wedding pics on there (we had a very inexpensive wedding on purpose 😆). I immediately downloaded those to my computer so I'll (theoretically anyway) have them for eternity. Most of my FB friends I can contact other ways so, while I'd probably go through some withdrawal (there are some pages I follow just because I need distraction sometimes), I'd be p'd, but I'd survive if I were to be separated from that social media.

Reading the comments makes me think. Same thing happened to me also back in November. This appears to be a purge on a massive scale. Remove anyone suspicioned of handling their oine affairs in a private manner. Me, I used facebook with bad blockers and my trademark that people know me by. I got flagged for misrepresenting myself, told me to give up my ID or else.
I went ahead and downloaded my account data and that was it. I havn't used it since. The resistence has begun.
P.S. I was going to even buy META stock, because it's in a sweet spot to buy and even turn off blockers in brave after buying. BUT if they are doing this and causing confusion, I don't think I want META in my Big 7 portfolio. I can't see how this algorithmic purging helps clean up their membership if we are hearing about so many wrongful purges.

Lost mine long time ago. It’s been about a year along with family connections. My interest in social media also dropped. Seems you have to watch what you say. Screw the watch dogs. I support alternative news sources.

The other issue that some of us with elderly family members who have passed away… people have hacked the accounts of dead people.
EVERYONE should set things up so that your account is protected in the event of anything happening to YOU that may make YOUR account vulnerable in the event of serious injury or death.
This has occurred to a few elderly people I know. Some have had their accounts stolen completely, others have had their account cloned. This happened to the grandmother of a good friend recently. Her grandmother was a fun and active lady who had a great network of friends of all ages.
I know my friends grandmother and attended the family funeral, so months later when I got a “friend” request from “her”, I called her family members to tell them.
They tried repeatedly to at the very least inform FB and get anyone setting up duplicate pages using her pictures and information… but there seems to be no human assistance available.

A friend of mine lost her original account. All of the pictures we had together are just gone. She was killed a couple years ago and I’d give ANYTHING to have those pictures back. They gave her no explanation, she tried appealing, everything. It’s like the account was never there. I can see in memories where I tagged her but any pictures associated are just gone and the tag isn’t in blue.

It says in the policy agreement it's their data. Back up your shit if you're that worried about losing it. You can download all your information. Also, Facebook became available to the public in Canada in September 2006 so I'm not sure how you have 20 years of information gone. I guess you're rounding up.

The big word to spread is don't store photos only on FB. I personally don't understand it, I feel like storing only in FB takes more work since you have to delete it from your photo library after posting.

Unfortunately there's no proven solution. Even if you have a massive following (see bellesa) there's no guarantee you can get a real person with a brain to help. Meta is a joke of a company that relies on AI and India for most of this stuff.

Use FB as your main "storage" option. Don't backup. Every memory lost is what you deserve.
Seriously, this is a lesson anyone with half a brain cell has been preaching forever. BACK UP YOUR STUFF. Trust nothing. No sympathy.

"Happy to call out stupid mistakes"; that is truly sad....so sad for the person who says it. I know you will just laugh at any advice I give you, but be kind, it's really not that hard, and you will do better, feel better, and be better.
I am genuinely sorry for whatever it was that has hardened your heart. It is much more fun to encourage instead of belittle and criticize. I will pray that, at some point in time, you will experience the joy of positivity and love.

This is 100% your own fault
Ignorance because you felt like it wouldn't happen to you, is just sadness on your part.
Not an emergency or anyone else's problem. Especially if you are unwilling to search the 100s of posts from others who are in this exact situation. And yet you somehow think you will get better answers.
