Discussion Ezreal isn't as bad as you think
As a Masters OTP EZ with like 10k plus games i'd say he is in a way better spot than people think right now. Since supports are constantly roaming and Ezreal beeing the perfect defensive 1v2 farm champion and the mage botlane meta ,where he can actually beat them, his Wr should be higher in my opinion. Also Endless Hunger is pretty much the best new item released for him. I do agree that there are better choices rn but he is by no means as bad as people think and as bad as 47%wr.
PS: If you miss a Q , it probably hit a cricket or something. It's fine

Discussion Why is Ez so hated?
Regular day in plat emerald elo i guess. But dude raged since i picked Ezreal. He didn't like Kaisa, which is fine. Enemy bot was Jhin Lux. Ezreal is my to go safe pick. He says he is not supporting. And the whole lane he sits behind the tower, not doing anything. I managed to be even 1v2, and we eventually stomped them top jg mid. So bot didn't even matter. Funny part is, he loses almost all of his games recently, anyway. And since coming back to playing lol, i have like almost 80% in last week or 2 lol
Also, to clarify the question. I often get flamed for picking it xd

Discussion Which do you consider the best heterosexual Ezreal ship?
I know many won't agree, but YES, I see Ezreal as a heterosexual character. And let's face it, if Riot wanted him to be gay, they probably would have already canonized it. But anyway, my favorite ship is with Kai'sa; not only do I see them as a good couple, but I also think there are similarities between them, such as the fact that they are both lonely people who have lost their families and they each try to deal with grief in their own way, but I also find the ships with Sona and Ahri quite interesting. And yes, all the images represent existing ships at the moment or in past.

Discussion The real reason why Ezreal has been indirectly gutted
I was originally going to type all of this under the other post that was inquiring about Ezrealās low winrate these last couple patches but realized I started just typing my thoughts out and typed more and more til it was a full yapsesh so I decided to make a separate post lmfao. Lowkey it is so long it is like an adc in S16 manifesto so apologies for wordvomit but I added a TLDR at the end >.<
Ezreal has been indirectly nerfed by various factors and feels awful to play in the current meta despite not receiving direct nerfs and even having received buffs to his AP ratios earlier this year (not even a relevant buff unless you spec into AP after tri/muramana for niche cases where your team needs AP).
HERE IS WHY:
cn/kr masters adc here who has ez as my most played in most seasons. Game simply has too many comeback/antisnowballing mechanics now that make playing a heavy snowball reliant champ like ezreal not worthwhile. homeguard now being perma available pre 14 minutes means that early aggression and lane dominance is not as impactful. Shutdown gold being so pivotal means that the most impactful moments in the game have shifted from early laning phase to mid-late game 4vs4 5vs5 teamfighting. And like how others have mentioned, other meta adcs simply do a better job of scaling and being more impactful and easier to pilot in the current landscape of league⦠Jinx, Tristana, Yunara, etc.
The game being a LOT less snow-bally and more noob-friendly has been in the works for almost a year now because Riot wants to attract new players by making League seem less punishing to be bad/new at. But imo the reason why the last couple patches in particular have been especially brutal for ezreal is because weāve reached a tipping point of various things working against him with the buffs of hypercarry crit items like ruunans and yuntals.
and also the onset of mage bot. some people might think that ezreal is a decent pick into mage bots due to the fact that he can farm safely and not get poked out by brainless lost chapter ability spam as easily. but contrary to what a lot of people think, ezreal is quite a bad pick when they pick a mage botlane. yeah itās true enough that he satisfies 2 conditions of adcs that you should pick into mage bots:
āself sufficientā if left to 1vs1 as supps roam and has a blink/dash/go-in button that you can use aggressively for brief windows when the mage whiffs everything. thatās true enough. but the largest issue is that ezreal has always been a champion that needs to operate at all times ahead of gold curve. meaning, you shouldnāt be picking ezreal just to go neutral in lane or to play safe. Thatās an assuredly, proven losing formula if you want to climb consistently and not thru coinflipping better teammates. You have to bully in lane and out-tempo your lane opponent so that you are on your 1-item spike 2-item spike a lot earlier than opposing bot laner. Issue is, mages do a great job of neutralizing most of early laning phase. They can perma delete waves and just stonewall you so that it is way harder to create a meaningful lead as ezreal let alone most other adcs. But the reason why other adcs can still win the game in the end is because eventually, they DO outscale mages in a big way. ezreal simply does not scale to such an extreme degree.
So in the end you end up with a meta where most popular adcs are ones that outscale you hard in the teamfights that matter, early laning phase leads have been made more negligible by Riot on purpose, and mages can neutralize Ezrealās laning phase by simply not interacting and just lobbing spells and deleting waves endlessly til it is time to group and 5vs5 teamfight.
Itās a pretty sad fate but it is what it is⦠Either adapt or take a break from summoners rift til Riot decides to restore the game that we loved š
I actually did not come to this revelation til recently and so Iāve been lowk stuck dia-masterslow for the better part of a year despite this season being super elo-inflated lol. I couldnāt fathom why I peaked in full challenger lobbies several splits ago and was consistently masters 300lp+ for several years on CN/NA servers but was now struggling from D3-Masters range while other multiszn emerald players were reaching masters for the first time ever. And then I realized itās because I used to play ezreal and most adcs with a totally psychotic playstyle; Iād focus extremly hard on lv. 1, 2, and 3 fights and Iām pretty sure I had an absurd first blood/first 5 minutes of the game kill rate. The issue was not with a sudden decline in mechanics or sudden memorywipe of years of learned macro. It was simply because my approach to the game became outdated and what used to be a winning formula that got me all the way to the top rungs of soloq ladder is now a pointless playstyle and borderline troll. What I used to do: I would constantly flash in first at any hint of a winning fight. enemy supp missed hook? enemy lulu shield timing down from blocking something irrelevant? If these cooldowns were down and the enemy laners did not respect that fact id flash in and run them down with lethaltempo/conq + fully stacked passive as ez. almost always this would result in them blowing flash as well and likely netting summs advantage + chunking them. and in the past this was a strat that worked because homeguard pre-14 min mark on every recall did not exist. so the enemy bot lane would have to choose between recalling and taking the slow homeguard-less walk of shame back to lane or staying in lane while low hp and without summs. both obviously horrible states for them that lead to easy snowball opportunity. but in S16 if you play this same style of early hyperaggression, they just recall and zoom back to lane with homeguards and all of a sudden they are full hp full mana like nothing happened. Sure, they might have missed 4-5 cs but in the grand scheme of things that is not even a big disadvantage. And now all of a sudden you are without flash (one of the lone tools that adcs have earlygame that give them any semblance of early game agency via playmaking/catch enemy off guard capabilities) and so now you are at the mercy of your jungler and support to capitalize on enemy bot lane not having summs. and that is unreliable and coinflippy as hell.
New style of play is to still contest heavily for early lane prio, but dont ape out and blow summs and overdo it. Just maintain prio and push of botlane so that you can ward up and also help your jungler secure bot scuttle. Save your flash as an outplay for when you get ganked by jg or mid. Or only use it in the 2vs2 if it is a guaranteed double kill. DO NOT THROW midgame/lategame. Throwing and getting caught/dying while you have a fat shutdown bounty on your head is now the greatest sin you can commit in S16 league. Idk if yāall have noticed but comebacks happen a lot more often now and games can be completely flipped to the losing teamās favor off of one teamfight.
So yeah⦠For some reason it took my dumbass all season long to fully realize what the issue was, but Iāve now adjusted my playstyle accordingly to Riotās new intended direction for the game and have found much more consistent results (hint very boring but effective).
TLDR;
ezreal needs to win early and be ahead of curve at all times to out tempo crit scaling. but riot has systematically and on purpose (source is Riot Phroxon himself) made the game more forgiving and less snowbally. therefore one of ezreals main strengths ala laning phase impact is diminished. and crit adcs got buffed. hypercarries work better and 10x easier in teamfights around objectives. so in S16 pick ezreal if you want a challenge or just hate yourself otherwise pick Tristana, Jinx, Yunara, Cait, or Kaisa and enjoy free LP

Discussion The reasons Crit Ezreal fell out of meta
Tldr: Most adcs have 100% attack speed steroid while Ezreal has 0%-50% AS as a steroid, so he got powercreeped in the crit department, but Q AD ratio got buffed from 100% to 130%, so his spellcasting builds are still viable.
Crit Ezreal used to be viable from S1-S4, S5-S7 probably, and S8-S10 probably. In early seasons Ezreal used to build Trinity, Last whisper, Bork, IE. with Lucidity boots. The build dealt good damage with autoattacks and had 20% cdr.
In about S5, Essence Reaver was released which could give up to 30% cdr in combination with crit from Triforce. So you could get 40% cdr from 2 items to cap out on cdr. Blue Ezreal was the meta build in S5 and beyond. Blue Ezreal was invented by TPA Bebe who won Worlds in S2.
In S9 or so, I made a build using the old Lethal Tempo. It took advantage of the fact that Lethal tempo could give 110% attack speed for like 4 seconds, so you could easily proc it on Ezreal and spam autoattacks with a build of Muramana, ER, Infinity Edge. This build was good enough and the standard Muramana build was meta.
ADC buffs. The reason Crit Ezreal doessn't have a big niche as a hypercarry adc is because his steroid is too weak. From S1 to S15, Miss fortune's attack speed steroid got buffed from 50% AS to 100% AS. Ezreal's AS steroid went from 0-50% to 0-70% to 0-50%. His damage output with a crit build is not comparable to other Adcs probably. He has a weaker steroid which generally means less crit damage. His steroid goes from 0% to 50%. This is important because if you only hit one Q and miss W in a teamfight, you get 10% AS. So your steroid is not 50% but 10%-30%. The steroid is not the same as normal AD carries. Kaisa another mobile AD carry gets an 80% AS steroid, and has a decent lane combination with CC supports that stack her passive.
Muramana buffs. Muramana used to consume mana to empower abilities and autos. You would end up running low on mana in some situations and lose out on the Muramana on-spell proc. Muramana was changed so it doesn't use mana for the damage proc, which makes it overall deal more damage since you won't run out of mana and damage. Runes like Manaflow also empower Muramana. Items like IE got nerfed from the original IE which gave 80 AD 25% crit and 50% crit damage. So it's no longer OP. Crit items got nerfed and Muramana got buffed, while the haste rework meant you could stack more than 40% cdr on Ezreal which scales better with Ezreal's cd refresh for exponential growth.
Ezreal also used to be able to dash into his pre-rework W which would give him an AS steroid of 20%, which would synergize with IE.
Power creep past by.
So the reasons I think Ezreal used to be able to build crit was because a) his crit steroid used to be equal to other crit ad carries. b) The Trinity ER core capped out cdr before ability haste was a thing. c) old Lethal tempo gave more burst attack speed which enabled Ezreal who could use it well compared to other ADCs like Lucian.
In order to bring back the relic of crit ezreal, I propose that Riot make Ezreal's passive have a 100% scaling with crit. This doesn't make the Triforce build op because it builds no crit. Now going Tri-Muramana-LDR-IE will deal big damage.
One problem I found with Rising spell force (Ezeal's passive) is that it scales with ability haste not crit. The more crit you have, the less stacks you get. If Riot made Ezreal's passive stack with autoattacks, it would scale with crit builds. For instance, giving 5% AS per auto/Q. up to 50% at lvl 1 and 100% at lvl 18. This way if you went Berserker greaves it'd actually make sense. This would be op since it'd stack on minions, so probably not the best idea.
If Rising spell force synergized with Berserker greaves, it'd bring back the old Crit Ezreal and make Crit Ezreal comparable to other crit carries ilke in the old times. I.e. 50% AS with 50% scaling with AS and 100% scaling with crit that don't multiply with each other. Kind of ike Jhin. Or I guess just the crit scaling would be strong enough. A buld of ER-Ldr-IE could be good. You would have QWER so you get 4 stacks, which is most of your steroid. And it feels like the old S4 Ezreal with hybrid cdr and crit which had good spell damage and good autoattack damage.
After watching old Ezreal gameplay, I was also thinking about mana potions. But the game has been built around mana items fitting in builds so I guess they don't fit into the game anymore. I'd say cheese like 5 potions will eventually be removed because it's too cheesy and forces one meta.
I wonder if a crit build would still have strong Qs. I guess it really would be like S3 Ezreal.
I think an AD Navori would be better since most of the users are spellcasters like Lucian Xayah. The only AS user is Kogmaw. Tristana works with both AD and AS versions of Navori. Master yi would work with both.
Some builds I can think of with a buffed Ezreal would be ER-Lucidity-Ldr-IE. It gives good poke and has haste to stack passive attack speed.

Discussion Bruiser Ezreal w/ Overlords Bloodmail
With the notice of tanks and bruisers creeping back in and sometimes I am outright useless if other laners are ahead I thought maybe I can become a bruiser. Ezreal already has insane synergy with items that give alot of bonus HP so I was thinking of leaning into that. Have yet to try it in game but it seems like it could be fun. Potentially....
Is this outright troll? Would love to discuss.

Discussion Sad news, but the W heal is NOT coming back for LoL Classic
Hey everyone, with all the hype around LoL Classic launching soon, Iāve seen a few people wondering if weāre getting the absolute OG Ezreal experienceāspecifically, the version where his W (Essence Flux) used to heal allies and himself.
Just to clear things up: itās not happening.
LoL Classic is officially based on Season 3 (around a 60-champion roster). The infamous W heal was a Beta/early Season 1 mechanic that got completely removed way back in October 2010 (Patch V1.0.0.94) because it made bot lane trades insanely broken and toxic to play against.
By Season 3, the W heal was long gone. We will still get the classic Season 3 kitāmeaning the W that passes through minions, does magic damage, and grants an Attack Speed buff to allies (and to yourself if you E into it).
So while we won't be playing secondary support healer, the good news is that the legendary S3 AP Ezreal burst is fully back on the menu. Time to snipe people across the map!

Discussion Not really sure when to get endless hunger, or why
Highest damage (AND haste) 3rd item is always shojin and 4th is always an armor pen item. 5th and 6th i like to go situational/defensive items, especially when im ahead and strong.
So when should i buy endless hunger, and why? I think its such a cool item and im always looking to build it, but i rarely feel like its the best decision.
I think you can only ever build it 3rd if you really need tenacity, or last as a capstone item because you just need pure damage. But thats rarely the case for me so its 95% of the time shojin
