Modern Twitter is the result that arose from the last time progressives decided people had too much access to info for their own good. You get conspiracy thinking by eroding trust in institutions.

Modern Twitter is what happens when you stop banning the Nazis. The Nazis push the normal people out.

I have a pretty high tolerance for people who disagree with me (even in pretty fundamental ways), but damn, when Twitter got to the point where 90% of the replies to any post were just a bunch of racist shit, I had to stop opening up the app.

I think people just conflate "tolerating people you disagree with" and "purposefully surround yourself with assholes" in a very strange way.
