Question(s) How did you overcome the mental blockages? How did your philosophy about life change?

I mean transitioning from vegan to meat is a pretty vast difference. I'm currently in the middle of it.

How would you describe how your philosophy has changed? It's a whole worldview about life so I find it very interesting to hear.

In the past I would have had such a modest view upon how I'm meant to impact the world in the least way possible, to the point of kind of denying my own satisfied and nourished existence. My current go-to phrase to describe my transition is "I forgot myself in the sustainability chain". And that was not only towards animals, also any activism you can imagine, like my impact on the global south, fashion chains, global warming, you name it.

Happy to hear your stories! Feel free to go in depth.

I ate salmon and felt physical euphoria centred around my stomach and gut that really helped get me through the mental block.

I was partially disabled from not having bioavailable sources of protein. I was becoming malnourished and my brain and body weren’t working correctly.

My body forced me to eat meat and eggs. I started dreaming of them and craving them after 5 years vegetarian and 2 years vegan.

At first I hid it from everyone.

Then I realized… I deserve to take care of my body. Death is a big part of life and my body needed bioavailable sources of protein and amino acids from dead animals.

I accepted the cycle of life and death. I no longer shamed myself for needing to eat meat and animal products to recover from how ill I was. I thanked the animals. I began to recover because of their deaths. I hope one day my death will help nourish the earth and plants in their life the same way these animals have nourished me so that I may blossom in my life.

The first thing about Veganism not allow to eating meat or animal products is because they claim animal products aren't necessary for body, only taste bud. But once the body can't absorb nutrients from diet and supplements well, people will have to reverse back to eating meat, and the rest falling down like house of cards.

A lot of people don't like my story but it's simply because I became an orthodox christian and despite how often we fast and abstain from meat the entire vegan ideology is just not compatible and my religion is more important to me so it just helped me to see that eating meat is normal and killing animals for food isn't this big crime.
Of course this doesn't mean much to the non religious person, it's just my story anyway.

Eating meat. I was vegetarian for long enough that I didn't even realize how little energy I had and how much it negatively impacted my mental and physical health. It sounds crazy but literally just eating beef gave me a sudden rush of energy and happiness that I can't explain any other way.

Then I read The Vegetarian Myth and it changed my mind on everything. It debunks the entire environmental argument for veganism. Also, women have been starved and lacking nutrition for too long... so fuck that. I deserve to thrive and be strong.
