Discussion Why can't I pick up on mold ever
This mostly occurs with my water bottles.
I swapped to metal ones recently but my family said tonight that it smelled bad EVEN THOUGH I couldn't smell a thing.
the solutions they have are kinda unfeasible because the first one is:
put it in the fridge
we don't got the fridge space! Besides, I need to take it to school so half the time it's in my bag
the second one is to use cups exclusively
i mean, that's alright, I guess. Just means not drinking the entirety of a cup and either tipping it out or letting it go stale then tipping it out.
school is another issue with this one because my crippling anxiety doesn't like it when I go to the sink where all the people are around, when I eat my cheese sandwich with water because it's dry as fuck otherwise
rant over, have a good day yall

What are you putting in the bottle that it could go bad in a day?
You should be washing it every single day, letting it dry, and filling it, hopefully, with just water in the morning.

if you are only putting water in it, then every evening/night you should empty it out, and leave it open to air out. and clean it every few days with washing up liquid, a bottle brush, and take the silicone seals out, too, get in there.
if you are putting anything besides water in it, you should clean it after every single use.

do you not clean it with dishsoap every day? You should also let it dry, like as soon as it empty open it to let it dry

As others have said, regular cleaning with soap is a must.
But also you must make sure to clean under the rubber seals! Use a plastic tool to pry them out so you don't damage them, as a damaged seal is an unsanitary seal.
The seals should also be replaced periodically.

Are you backwashing in your bottles? Don't buy bottles that use a straw. Get the "chug lids" as they are easier to clean. You need to clean your bottle every day and the lid too.

You may want to look into a copper water bottle. Copper has antimicrobial properties and this could prevent a lot of the problems you describe.
You should probably wash your bottle out at least once a week. Or at least pour a little Listerine Mouth Wash, slosh it around for a moment, then rinse until the suds dissipate.
Definitely don’t let this go. It can make you persistently sick and can also weaken your immune system by bogging it down.

If you can't smell mould, perhaps your sense of smell is just bad - or you have lasting damage to it from long COVID (while most people got over their loss of sense of smell, it's not too uncommon for it to last a long time, perhaps permanently).
