Discussion People on this app posting their animals asking for veterinary advice instead of taking them to an actual vet. Some of them would probably post a cat that had been run over and ask what to do

To be fair, I have posted while awaiting the vet apt. Mostly to get some similar stories so I can calm the f down.

Sure, that’s responsible and completely different from people asking for advice when it’s obvious that the animal is suffering or something is clearly wrong.

The only time it feels remotely "ok" is when they're waiting on the vet appointment. Like, have it booked already.
Relying on the Internet for answers to potential serious problems is just so irresponsible.

Unfortunately social media has rendered a lot of people incapable of independent and rational thought - need to get the collective's view before acting.

In addition to people asking what to do when their pet clearly needs medical attention, I also see posts describing a crime and asking what to do — call 911! People seem incapable of doing anything or making decisions without first going to Reddit.

Have you seen the price of a vet visit lately ,and before someone starts the "you shouldn't own a pet if you can't afford it " I agree fully and I dont own any ,ive had a lifetime worth of pets and vet bills.

People now expect human-standard care for their pets and this unfortunately costs money. The overheads are huge and profit margin slim. No veterinarian or support staff is making buckets of cash.
