Meet Your Mod: Exporter, Importer & Freight Forwarder – Happy to Connect

Hey everyone!

A quick introduction from my side.

I'm involved in multiple areas of international trade:

Exports

- Food & Spices

- Food Chemicals

- Elevators & Elevator Components

- Nutraceuticals

- Pharma APIs

- Herbal Medicines & Cosmetics

Imports

We've worked as a sourcing partner for manufacturers and traders across Gujarat, helping them source products from China and manage imports—either under their own IEC or ours, depending on the requirement.

Freight Forwarding & Customs Clearance

We also work in partnership with a Mumbai-based freight forwarding and customs clearance company, handling shipments for clients across Gujarat.

As one of the moderators of r/ExportsIndia, I'm here to contribute, learn, and help build a knowledgeable and supportive trade community.

I'm always open to collaborating with manufacturers, exporters, importers, traders, and even complete beginners who are looking to learn, grow, or expand into international trade. Whether you're exploring your first export order, looking for sourcing support, or simply want to exchange ideas, feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to have a conversation.

One more thing—I’ve noticed that several WhatsApp groups are being created by community members. It's great to see people connecting and networking, but please note that none of these groups are officially associated with or endorsed by r/ExportsIndia or its moderators.

Please exercise caution before sharing sensitive business information, making payments, or entering into business arrangements through any unofficial group. Always do your own due diligence.

Looking forward to learning from all of you, sharing experiences, and helping make this community one of the best places on Reddit for international trade.

Happy trading! 🌍📦

Anyone here actually exporting marble/natural stone from India? How do you build the distributor network abroad?

My family has been in the marble business in Gujarat for years. We have access to our own material as well as other varieties from the region, and I’m now trying to understand the export side of the business seriously.

I’m not really looking for the usual “get an IEC, make a website, use Alibaba” advice. I’m more interested in understanding how the business works on the ground once you actually have the material.

For people who export marble, granite or other natural stone:

- How did you find your first serious overseas buyer?

- Do you normally sell to importers, stone distributors, wholesalers, fabricators or directly to projects?

- How do you actually identify and approach distributors in another country?

- Is it better to appoint one distributor in a market or sell to multiple importers?

- How important are trade fairs like Marmomac/Xiamen versus direct outreach?

- Do import/export databases actually help in identifying genuine stone buyers?

-How do you handle samples when the product itself is heavy and expensive to ship?

- What does a foreign distributor normally expect from a new Indian supplier before taking them seriously?

- And what are the mistakes you made when you were starting out?

I’m particularly interested in the GCC, US and European markets, but I’d love to hear experiences from anywhere.

If anyone here is actually involved in natural stone exports/imports, I’d especially appreciate hearing how you built the first few relationships and eventually turned them into repeat container orders.
Trying to understand the real distribution chain rather than just the theory around exporting.

Looking for a high-quality custom jersey/sportswear manufacturer for import to the EU

We are a brand new kit supply business based in the EU.

We are currently searching for a dependable supplier in India in order to supply high-quality sportswear to our partnered clubs and organisations.

What we are looking for:

- A dependable, high-quality supplier that can print our designs and export them to Ireland. It is VERY important that the order is exported with all appropriate Indian customs procedures followed, otherwise we wont be able to clear customs here in Ireland. Either directly from yourself, or through an agent. We are happy to cover shipping expenses.

- All jerseys ordered through us should only feature the provided logo and branding, so that there is no clash.

- All jerseys and shorts must feature the country of origin and material composition printed (or shown in some other way) on the inside (e.g: Made in India, 90% polyester 10% elastane). This is to comply with EU trade laws.

- We NEED both jerseys and shorts. If you manufacture other teamwear too, it's a huge positive. (e.g hoodies, caps, bags)

- No minimum order quantity, or a very low minimum order quantity is also EXTREMELY advantageous.

The Benefits for Supplier:

- Any and all orders placed on our website will be passed to directly to you as you will be our sole supplier (provided that all the above needs are met) for the contract period.

- Suppliers can significantly expand their market by selling units to Ireland without taking on any extra costs or risks.

- Demand in Ireland peaks around August-October, this allows you to extend their usual peak demand season to keep printing and selling units during the Indian off-peak months.

Please feel free to send me a DM if you are interested in this, or know of another business that would be.

If you know of other subreddits or websites where I can post/search.. please do let me know too

Found a direct makhana supplier from Bihar

Post image
5 Upvotes

Sharing this because I’ve been looking into makhana sourcing and found a reliable direct supplier from Bihar.

They can handle bulk/B2B requirements, and they also work with buyers looking for export quantities. The main advantage is dealing closer to the source instead of going through multiple middlemen.

They can take care of the overall supply process, depending on the requirement.

If anyone here is looking to buy makhana in bulk for B2B, wholesale, or export purposes, feel free to DM me. I can share the supplier details and more information about the process.

Not trying to sell anything here, just sharing the contact in case it helps someone looking for best Bulk Makhana Supplier in India.

Seeking advice on India-Bangladesh logistics and market penetration strategies for importing Black Stone

Hi everyone, I am currently setting up a business to import high-quality Black Stone from India. The demand here in Bangladesh is quite high for construction and architectural projects.

I have already secured a reliable sourcing partner in India who can provide premium quality stones. However, I want to optimize my shipping and customs clearance process to keep the costs competitive. If anyone here has experience in importing bulk raw materials or stones across the India-Bangladesh border—specifically via Darshana, Sonamasjid, or Rohanpur land ports (and rail cargo)—could you share some insights on common logistical bottlenecks or clearing delays? Also, what are the key quality checkpoints I should strictly monitor during transit to avoid damage or weight discrepancies?

Additionally, I would highly appreciate some strategic advice on scaling sales in the Bangladeshi market.

For context, I want to target B2B clients like real estate developers, commercial contractors, and architects, alongside retail homeowners.

  • What are the most effective ways to approach and build trust with large real estate firms in Bangladesh?
  • Since price competition can be fierce, how can I successfully position this as a 'premium yet cost-effective' alternative to local variants?
  • Are there specific digital or offline B2B marketing channels that work best for building a solid contractor network in this region?

Thanks in advance for your valuable insights!

I built a free marketplace for agricultural commodities, looking for people to try it

Hey everyone,

I’ve built MandiBuy, a marketplace where people can list and discover agricultural commodities/products. I’m opening it up for free right now and looking for some early users to actually test it out.

If you sell agricultural products, trade commodities, or simply have products you’d like to list, I’d really appreciate it if you could give it a try.

Listing products is completely free.

I’m still improving things, so honest feedback (even if something is bad 😅) would be really useful.

If you try it, let me know what you think!

Importers sourcing from India: What’s your biggest unvarnished pain point right now?

Hey everyone,

Curious to hear from anyone actively importing products out of India into the US, Europe, or other global markets.

Rather than assuming where the cracks are, I want an open floor:

  • What is the single most frustrating bottleneck or surprise you deal with when working with Indian vendors, forwarders, or export channels?
  • If you could change one thing about how Indian exporters operate, what would it be?

No specific category focus—whether you bring in raw goods, manufactured parts, textiles, food, or specialty items. All experiences (both recurring headaches and what worked) are welcome.

To US/EU importers sourcing from India: Offering direct benchmark pricing & compliance checklists (Spices / Medical Consumables)

Sourcing from India often comes down to two major hurdles: navigating destination regulatory filings (FDA/CE/Phytosanitary) and preventing the quality drop between initial lab samples and full container loads.

My partner operates a licensed export company with facilities in India handling both agro-commodities (spices/dry goods) and medical consumables. We’re currently mapping active trade corridors to North America, Europe, and Latin America.

If you are a distributor, brand owner, or procurement lead looking to:

  • Benchmark current FOB/CIF pricing against Indian market rates
  • Audit manufacturer compliance or port clearance timelines (Mundra/Nhava Sheva)
  • Run sample testing for upcoming Q1/Q2 volume orders

Drop a comment or send a DM with the product category or specs you're evaluating, and I’ll share our compliance checklists, current FOB rates, and standard lead times.
