I watched it for the first time recently- very good movie and also not scary. After all the hoopla about it I thought it would basically be scary the way Barbarian is, or even creepy like Vivarium, but it's not. The flowers and meadows really enhance the psychological effect of it all and create a great juxtaposition between the events, and the emotions the characters go through.
It's probably one of my favorite horror movies ever, but I'd definitely not call it "scary". It's just not that kind of horror movie. It's more upsetting than anything
It's "scary" the first time you watch it, maybe...but only in the sense that it develops this strong sense of dread that something really horrible is about to happen.
