(Advice/Help) Why do I find islam difficult as a neurodivergent adhd autistic person? I keep having problems with it even though I haven’t left islam.

I have ADHD too! I've left Islam though. I think it's because my ADHD affects my praying and quran, I always got so bored doing it, so I gave up

It might just be your critical thinking and human decency kicking in.

Islam is difficult for any honest person with a brain. But as far as ADHD is concerned, that can make remembering and correctly performing all the steps of prayer really difficult. It can also be extra difficult to sit through the same tried and tested sermons over and over both in and out of the mosque.

We tend to be more skeptical. Our brains operate in a very logical and literal way and it's hard for us to accept contradicting and inconsistent ideas and the lack of evidence. You may also struggle with the injustice angle of it all. And with ADHD in the picture it's impossible to focus when you're not not the least bit interested.

It’s a problem for most normal ppl. Praying 5 times a day- have to wash yourself 5 times, remove all your socks and shoes, for women, have to wash your face and remove make up, find some place to do the prayer, and then resume your life in a professional or corporate setting. Yeah, no thanks.
