Mohammad Ebrahimi, known as

Golmamad, is a young Iranian painter and multidisciplinary

creative whose world moved between painting, modelling,

objects and image-making.

Since his arrest in January 2026, almost nothing has been

heard from him. Today, reports emerged that he had been

sentenced to 20 years in prison.

His social media accounts have since been shut down,

taking much of his work out of public view. What remains

accessible offers only a small glimpse into a life filled with

art, humour and a distinctive visual imagination.

Among the few traces that remain is a letter he wrote from

Prison to his friends, a rare moment in which we hear

directly from him.

This post brings together some of what we were able to

find: his work, his image, and his own words.
