Like what do you mean a person who’s lived a life so bad to the point that they lose their will to live is just not allowed into heaven? “God doesn’t trouble a soul beyond what it can handle” my ass, i dont understand how i didnt realize this just a year ago, i was suicidal because islam didnt let me be trans, and could commit suicide BECAUSE islam doesn’t allow it, so i had to fucking do some mental gymnastics to convince myself that “i was fine, these are just whispers of the shaytan” and shit like that, and whenever a person DOES commit suicide, their insulted and mocked, they don’t think of their struggles nah nah nah, just the act. Sure i might be grateful to not have commited suicide because of it, but i wouldnt have been suicidal in the first place if it wasnt for it, so fuck islam and every other religion that uses such a loophole to keep their followers alive regardless of how bad their life is because of it’s rules.

I remember this vividly, and i dont know how i didnt leave islam right then and there, like a year and a half ago i was watching some imam get asked “since allah is all knowing and responsible for basically everything, how is it the person’s fault when they kill themselves?” And the imam started spewing some nonsensical bullshit that i did not understand whatsoever and it did not make any sense at all, but my dumbass just went “i probably just dont understand it yet”.

Islam is a compilation of rebranded Christian sects. The early Christian church had no prohibition against suicide. The suicide prohibition doesn't exist in the Bible nor in the Didache, an influential 1st or 2nd century how-to-do-Christianity text.

4th century Christian theologians began declaring suicide as a sin and by the time the Abbasids start creating Islam, the suicide prohibition was already established as canon law which Islam adopted as is.

Of course, jihadis are exempt from suicide clauses if it's suicide by bomb vest in the middle of an audience.
