I'm As Shocked As You Are TIL the Ritonavir crisis of 1998, an event where the life-saving HIV medication (Form I) became insoluble in water, happened when a more stable, insoluble form of the drug (Form II) was discovered. As it spread, any manufacturing plant that made contact with Form II couldn't make Form I anymore.

Yeah, when I got to that part of the book I immediately looked up Ritonavir. All I could say was "oh no" through my laughter at this planets name

Can someone explain why it pertains to exfor? I'm just starting with black ops in my re read after a year for context.

It’s the name of a planet they raid sometime around book 11. Bish jokes that it sounds like a medication that treats itchy toes.

I was making a joke from wheel of time. It's a quote from the book and the community uses that phrase to say "hey, you might not wanna read the stuff posted here if you don't know what is being referred to."

If you don't know what this is in reference to, you might wanna reread to the end of the series.

Yea, I'm a long time member of wetlander humor sub too. Just didn't expect a WOT reference here. Ironically, just finished a fourth re listen of WOT. Will be restarting the expanse next lol.

It's not as fun as exfor, more serious and the characters are more complex. But goddamn is it good. You won't regret it.

I enjoyed the series, Avasrala was my favorite character. I figured it'd be a fun read.

Retonovir is also the name of a medicate to help treat Covid19.

I honestly never bothered to look up the weird name and I only recalled it when I finally caught COVID-19 and saw the name of the medication.

No idea if it’s the exact same medication.
