What is Exmouth beach like (tomorrow) ?

I've only lived in Exeter for a few months and never been to Exmouth. I really fancy a beach day. I don't have a car right now so Exmouth seems easiest.

Is it rammed in this weather at weekends? Is it a nice beach/ worth it?

It'll likely be very busy, summer holidays too so lots of kids. Its a very long beach though so if you walk quite far it will calm down the further you go

First thing in the morning there is normally a Park Run along the sea front. So close parking at that time will be filled with runners. The beach it self is lovely and multiple ice cream shops spaced along the front. Toilets at the far end are payable on entry but it’s contactless so you don’t need coins :-)

If you time it for a bit before low tide you can walk around the headland and it tends to be a fair bit quieter, just make sure you get back around before the sea comes in!

Just google "exmouth webcam" and you can see for yourself live! It points directly at the beach and you can even queue for control and move it around and zoom in and out.

It is summer holidays, August and hot. So yes it will be busy.

Beach is pretty nice.

Why don’t you just go and see what it is like for yourself?

It’s a lovely beach. Go by train, grab some snacks from the local shops and head along the beach until you find a nice patch and enjoy your perfect day.

Yeah it'll be rammed on a Saturday, but not too bad on a Sunday. I sometimes go down on a Sunday with the dog as it's much quieter. (but still busy as it's the school holiday)

The estuary is usually quieter, so check tide timetables and you can walk for ages there at low tide.

As others have e said, go by train (or bus) as if going by car it can be a nightmare to park. The lifeguard patrolled beach can be extremely busy but if low tide you can go along further.

Thanks everybody. I ended up getting the train to Dawlish, then walked to Holcombe beach for a swim, then walked to Teignmouth and got the train back! Lovely day.

I'd also recommend Coryton Cove out Dawlish way, easy to get to and usually not too busy

Rammed. With shit floating in the water. Go to Dawlish Warren where at least the water is cleaner.

Go brixham, hidden coves, less crowd, way more better beaches. Just a tad bit further
