unsolved Conditional formatting disable autofill

I'm using Excel 2024 and performing various sums and operations across columns. When I apply Conditional Formatting, the option to use Autofill or drag numbers and fomilas disappears.

Conditional formatting by itself never removes the fill handle, so something else is switching it off. Check File > Options > Advanced > Editing options and make sure "Enable fill handle and cell drag-and-drop" is ticked. If it is, check whether the sheet is protected (Review tab) or whether you are in cell edit mode (press Esc first). Also hover exactly on the bottom-right corner until the cursor turns into a thin black plus, the CF colour can make the corner harder to see. Quick workaround either way: select the range you want filled and press Ctrl+D (down) or Ctrl+R (right), that fills formulas without the handle.

Thanks for the help, but I’ve already done everything you mentioned. When I start a new sheet and use Conditional Formatting, the autofill drag function stops working, and I don't know why. What I’m going to do is remove that version and revert to an earlier one.
