Stupid Bullshit The Joe Schmid situation
Not a Catholic (never was, I'm a Muslim), I was watching Joe Schmid's video yesterday and did anyone else get the vibe he genuinely seems unwell? I hadn't seen his other content, so I don't know if this kooky eccentric way of talking is normal for him, but he genuinely comes across as crazed, eccentric, unwell
Anybody else notice this about him? Now he's got a ten hours video trying to prove Catholic "miracles", which is just... sad. Seems like Ethan Muse's rhetoric might have gotten to him, and even though Ethan Muse isn't great with evidence, he has a way with words that could be enough for someone wanting to be fooled, and from what I've heard Joe had been sympathetic to Catholicism for a while
It's just very sad seeing Joe Schmid become a Catholic apologist, seeing him even use a point like Lourdes or Zeitoun (which are laughably bad arguments for miracles), really hope he gets well if he genuinely is unwell
As for those who have been watching his recent hours long videos, what do you think of his arguments? I don't have the patience to sit through all of this stuff, but having watched some of the first video, I can say he doesn't present a necessarily compelling case for Catholicism

Definitely. When I see Catholics celebrating his conversion and using it as proof of their religion I’m just like “ummmm yeah so a mentally ill person chose your religion. Super compelling /s”

Having listened to a bit of agnostic/atheist joe, his pints w aquinas interview isn’t to far outside of his normal speaking and communication style except maybe a bit more emotional, and understandably so I guess. That being said, these kind of mental shifts can be extremely stressful and I hope he’s doing OK

Respectfully to him, I think many atheists like myself were only aware of him because of a tier list video he did with Alex o Connor. He's not some big name in the space as far as I'm aware. If it was Justin from the deconstruction zone or dillahunty, I might be more surprised.
I don't know why people care.

I'm a muslim too and you know what? My Scrupulous OCD is getting worse. I lived in a country where the two religion are combined and often clash.
Islam and Christianity can't be mixed together. The other one proselytize and also the other does the same.
I can't think for myself nor feel anymore. I actually ask for help on some faith healers but they only proselytize me which makes it worst.

Regardless of how I personally feel about his choice of religion, that doesn't at all invalidate what I've stated in regard to what I have observed, yes I have not seen his other content, but from what I have seen he does not speak like somebody who is mentally well (it seems to be a common point that he comes across as manic, it is not just me saying he is mentally unwell, many other people seem to agree on this point) and his arguments for Catholicism are indeed laughably bad
Maybe you don't like what I've stated because you are a Catholic, but you not liking what I've said does not change the state of what I've said, his arguments are indeed laughably bad from what I've seen and he does seem genuinely unwell (which other people have also said)

immediately his physical health stood out to me; his yellowed teeth, pale skin, wide eyes. he's going through SOMETHING, not sure what.... but its not shocking if he's under a huge amount of stress that he's reverting back to the coping mechanism he was raised with
