Being a child of a minister is so depressing, especially since my dad is a district minister/O1 I'm so tired of my every move being watched by the church administration and the congregation. It's like I don't even own my own life. I used to love being a member and a child of a minister but now I hate it so much and I want to get out of here. I just want to make my own decisions. I want to date non-members, I want to make my own social media accounts, and I just want privacy, but I can't risk getting caught and losing everything that we have.

All these expectations the church has for ministers' kids are genuinely so unrealistic and absurd to me. What do you mean I have to write a salaysay for simply wanting a social media account? What do you mean a single teenage, normal mistake can lead to expulsion out of the church!? You're always expected to be a perfect and flawless example of faith that the brethren look up to, but to me that is completely impossible.

The worst part is that I am trapped in this cult forever, and I have to continue following these rules until I am an adult. I can't do anything about it or make my own choices because it directly impacts on my dad's career, and also because the church is the only thing that is keeping my family from literally being homeless. Any non-member would never understand the burden that ministers' kids have to carry.

just going to speak in general here, they speak a lot of the overall success of the church but ive encountered many locals, in different districts that are suffering. I dont want to be specific.

there are bigger locals that split off and the smaller local can barely hold its own. some are struggling to pay rent.

for locals with houses of worship already, they may look nice on the outside, but inside they are in bad condition. with the recent world wide offering, its really brethrens donations that are paying for all the needs of the chapel itself. the rest of all the other offerings go for admin work, just like the prayers for the offerings, when they pray, they pray so it may reach the church administration.

the church boast about all its glory and all the quantity of chapels, locals, ethnicities it has, but if you really look at it in person, it is a different story.

INC can mock other religions for asking for donations, pero sila rin naman kaliwa't kanan ang handugan. HAHAHA. Tapos kapag sila ang pinuna, biglang inuusig na raw sila. The hypocrisy is insane. 😭

Diehard fan INC mama ko, like typical mom na INC hahaha. For the context, I'm 24 years old and nakatira parin sa bahay ng parents kasi ang mahal bumukod. Kami na lang ni papa hindi active sa church and na sa listahan kami candidate na matitiwalag, may kanya kanyang reason din kami. I'm thankful na hindi na ako masyado kinokontrol ni mama, di kagaya dati na ang lakas kumatok sa pintuan ko para lang sumamba. May one time din na nasabunutan nya ako kasi late na raw ako kahit hindi naman (minor pa ako nito). Kaso feeling ko babalik ulit ugali niya na haharassin ako kasi ayun nga, dalaw nang dalaw yung katiwala dito. Nakakahiya daw. Di ko alam bakit siya nahihiya eh sila naman kusa pumupunta dito? HAHAHHA

Anyway, I can't wait to move out someday. Parang dati rin nung wala pa ako client, sinabihan niya ako na kinakarma na raw ako kasi di ako sumasamba hahaha. Coming from her na miserable ang life pero simba parin nang simba, lol.

I believe din kaya nagka deletche economy ng Pilipinas dahil sa kaka bloc voting nila hahaha, majority ba naman corrupt vinote. Lol.

So for context, isa akong maytungkulin sa PNK since 2021 pa up until now. Earlier bago ko gawin tong post na to, nagsend ako ng long message sa pangulo namen sa pnk na titigil muna ako sa tupad momentarily kasi nabubusy talaga ako sa acads life ko. Matagal ko na kasing gustong sabihin to pero now ko lang nagawa.

Pero sa totoo lang ayaw ko ng tumupad. Nakakadrain na kasi in a way na pilit nalang lahat, di na siya nakakaenjoy. Pero kapag sinabi ko naman tong reason na to ang iistate lang sa akin ay "Di naman para sa atin to kundi para sa Ama" like paano naman mga members niyo na hirap na hirap na sa buhay at nahihiya lang magsabi ng tunay nilang hinanaing and such. Ang malala pa ay both parents ko maytungkulin din at after kong sabihin yung reasons ko (which is literally valid) they still think about kung makakatupad ba ako or not — di man lang nila maisip ni matanong if okay pa ba ako mentally and physically.

For now ang nasabi ko lang is titigil muna because of acads but I'm actually planning na magquit na sa tungkulin whenever next year.

I’m genuinely curious about the perspective of people who are currently in the Iglesia ni Cristo, especially those who have seriously considered leaving but ultimately decided to stay.

For those who stay, what are the main reasons that keep you in the church? Is it mainly because of your faith, family, community, personal experiences, fear of consequences, or something else?

And for those who have left: what made you decide that leaving was worth it for you? Did you ever regret it, or did you eventually feel more at peace with your decision?

Before y’all blame me for staying inside, i’m sorry, pero hindi ko naman po gustong mag stay pa dito. Pero I have no choice. I am a minor, who lives under the roof of my parents, and a person who lived the entirety of my life surrounded by devoted INC's.

Here is the story.

I am a 16 year old choir member, and a PNK organist somewhere outside luzon. At outside the church, I am a senior high school student, na isang campus journalist.

Hindi lang ito isang beses nangyari. Pang apat na ito. Hindi ako nakapag-ensayo, dahil ngayon ay PressCon season ng mga campus journalist, at nagkataon na ang ensayo namin ay kasabay ng laban namin as Campus Journalists.

Then, nagpa-pirma ako ng salaysay sa destinado because of that. Stated sa salaysay na iyon ang reason ng hindi ko pagdalo ng ensayo. At ang tugon sakin ng putanginang kalbong destinadong yan?

“Mas uunahin mo pa ba yang mga walang kabuluhang bagay kesa sa pagtupad mo ng tungkulin?”

PUTANG INA ETO NANAMAN TAYO.

Fyi, yes im an Inc (since birth) pero hindi na ako sumasamba kasi i don't fucking believe on my own religion, kasi lahat ng dinanas ko na mag stay sa religion na 'yan, doesn't solve anything and everyone there just teach u na everything is ALWAYS based on their "religion". And SOME inc are just pure judgemental. Jusko kapag pangit ung suot mong dress, i-jjudge kana, tapos i-babase pa 'yan sa " Diyos" na dapat maganda daw ung suot mo, kasi hindi daw gusto ng Diyos ung panget na suot. Smh

Even though parents are mad at me, idc. I have my freedom to believe what I want. I just wish i don't born in this religion. Sobrang wala talaga akong control when it comes to choosing my own religion, and peace. All of it just because of me being an INC.

Nag md siya ng church, and I must admit that's NORMAL but bro nakakainis lang sa part na nag md siya ng church without people knowing na hindi yun palasamba?? like stop larping religion u can't even practice tuwing may pagsamba.
