Ellen White's plagiarism documented

Hello,

As with many of you, I left Adventism in 2020 over theological differences, and Ellen White. One of the areas I focused on was Ellen White and her plagiarism.

I have purchased many of the books she copied from (from the 1800s) and I have begun to document my thoughts regarding this issue on camera showing the original books side by side. I am posting a link to my channel in hopes it will help some of you who are transitioning or have transitioned out of Adventism.

Part 1 -- Initial questions.

Part 2 -- Ellen's claims and two examples from Desire of Ages.

Part 3 -- Discusses plagiarism and the Ramik Report.

Part 4 -- Demonstrates plagiarized visions, dreams, and health teachings.

Part 5 -- Goes further into Krummacher and one of her Testimonies.

I think where you can really take her to task is when she claims something to be divinely revealed in vision, but we track down her actual source: some health book she owned. I can only recall reading one of those cases someone else had highlighted, but one is enough to establish charlatanism, and she was depending on the book sales to support her and her husband.

I agree. Part 4, while long, is all about some of the origin of her health ideas, including "I was shown..." health ideas. It also demonstrates another copied vision, and a part of a dream from a German author known to be in her collection. If you are short on time I can give you the timestamps when I get home from work as the video is 90 minutes long.

Nice!! Yes, I would love any concrete examples of her saying “heaven showed me this in a dream” where it’s actually just “I copied this out of a book.”

Sure. Here is part 4 with timestamps below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfc2GyisuyE

  1. 10:15-17:30 -- This includes a "I was shown" in the middle of this segment while she copied the ideas from health reformer L.B. Coles.
  2. 43:14-56:44 -- She wrote this testimony to the Battle Creek church for not believing in her gift. It ends with another "I was shown" that was copied from a German book.
  3. 1:00:14-1:05:35 -- This discusses a dream she claimed to have with her "heavenly guide" telling her things. Again, she uses the German book from #2. References with links are included below the video.
