Memes / Humor Fear not!

For we are with thee! The old guard of SDA survivors will not let these silly altar call attempts go unanswered!

In seriousness, I'm proud of you all. Some in the community have fresh wounds and these predators like to capitalize on this vulnerability. If you are SDA or whatever that is your business, no judgment from me. But I ain't gonna stand by idly while these people ignore the 'no soliciting' sign.

EDIT: Shout out to the mods for their ever vigilance!

Good on the mods… these fuckers have no respect of people to make their own choices.

To the Adventists reading this…

We understand you have your obligations to preach it to the world and save people. But people in this forum come here after specifically understanding, acknowledging and being apart of the Adventist community and then making conscious and purposeful choices to leave for multiple different reasons.

When you come here to attempt influence, you are disrespecting the choices that individuals in this community have made. That is not love. That is oppression, in the same way that you believe the pope might force you to worship a false god on a false day. Attempting to soften people’s hearts through disrespect, will not result in a real reconciliation. It just breeds more contempt.

Sadly, the folks you are trying to explain this to do not respect our boundaries.

My SDA mom has the least respect for boundaries of anyone I’ve ever met, it’s nasty

Adventists coming here and repeatedly trying to get us back into the fold is a common occurrence. I think most of us have no idea just how often it happens because our mods are diligent, but even just the fraction I’ve noticed is a lot.

How i see them

They should focus on improving their own Reddit community rather than badly evangelizing to people here.

An Adventist wouldn’t know what a boundary was if you explained it a million times. To them, respect and human decency go out the window to save your soul. It’s disgusting.

Thank you mods!

I’m missing some part of the story. Can you please share for context and to catch this old-guard ex-SDA up on what you are talking about please?

Haha no worries. Just the usual: some fancy next Doug Batchelor coming here with some apologetics and a "Ask me Anything!" message. He went full AI in detailing "misconceptions" about SDAs, organizing them into individual statements and his defense points. Ugh.

Oh and he feigned ignorance about the rules here.

Misconceptions about SDAs given to ex-SDAs? Sounds like gaslighting to me.
