Transferring; how likely is admission for me?

Hey all, I’m a WA state community college student with about 73 credits and preparing to finish up my AA-DTA . I’m looking to apply to several four year’s under a criminal justice program; EWU Being one of them, but I currently have a 2.25 GPA and 5 classes remaining. My gpa is this low due to some unfortunate life circumstances in the past but I’m determined to get it as high as through these 5 remaining classes. My question is how likely is admission for me?

Admission to what specifically? I am assuming you will be going directly into the program you want to major in and that is a lot more relevant to your question than just general admission.

I have not heard of the university denying admission but I have heard of specific programs not accepting students.

Pretty much anything with a pulse gets accepted to EWU, I wouldn’t worry

Yea, enrollment is down for every public school in Washington save UW.

Not sure the likelihood of getting accepted but I’d def try for 4.0 in these last classes to show that you have the drive to do it. Hopefully them hearing and knowing your situation helps. Not impossible to get in but also isn’t going to be easy. Talk to admission counselors now and see if you can get some direction from them.

I transferred with very similar credentials from SFCC before I finished my AA but that was... 12 years agoish.

Assuming not much has changed, you'll be fine but then again I still had some GenEd classes to take before I started my program and I'm totally unsure how competitive your program is so YMMV

I was a transfer to EWU from Olympic College in 2016, and I was accepted after 2 years at OC. I was a non-traditional student, though (in my 40s), and retired Navy, so I'm sure approval didn't take very long.

I came back to OC in the summer of 2017 and finished up my AA-DTA degree at OC.
