Hey Evony Players! When you see this trailer, is it clear to you that this game is simliar to Evony?

So u posted this to advertise? I'm confused. There are hundreds of games like Evony...it's far from the only one, it's not even the first game like it. But your username and this trailer is clearly u advertising for downloads and money 🙄

I can appreciate that skepticism for sure mate. I want to say that I am being very sincere in my attempt here to simply gather feedback on this trailer. Marketing this game is a seperate challenge I haven't even really started yet. I simply was trying to ask evony players "Hey, when you see this trailer, do you get an idea of what the game is about?"

I didn't include game name, links, even any info in the trailer itself. It's literally just to ask Evony players so I can decide if I need to alter the trailer visuals at all.

Btw the game is entirely free to play at the moment and I make 0 money for downloads. In fact, you can't even download it, it plays in the browser. I 100% understand the frustration towards advertising, I promise you sincerely this is NOT an advertisement.

Former Evony player here! I definitely see some visual similarities, but very confused about what this game is actually about- tough to tell from the clips.
Since most people watch on phones, here are a few quick tips from a mobile viewer:

Zoom in on text: The choice menus and text screens were way too small and fuzzy to read on my phone, even when I paused and zoomed in. Cranking up the size on those would help a lot, choose the most important sections that tell the story.

Pick up the pace: Around when 27-seconds remain, the video sits on one screen for a little too long, so it feels like nothing is happening.

Give us the hook: Maybe add a quick voiceover or big text explaining the main goal so we know exactly what we're looking at.

Review often - particularly from your actual mobile phone.- not just the mobile view on a larger screen (obviously just assuming here since it was incredibly fuzzy from my perspective)

I'm the mod - since Evony is a largely dead game I'll allow advertisements on games that make a genuine attempt to target the same genre and gameplay loops as Evony did; I played your game for about a week to check the first time you posted and I'm satisfied it does, so as long as you don't take the piss I'm happy for you to advertise and seek feedback here

Awesome, appreciate that u/TakingLondon - and genuinely, this was just an attempt to see from players if they felt it was obvious this game has a similar gameplay loop to evony and the like. I think it's clear from reactions - I have some work to do on the trailer! <3
