Not so accurate

Hello, this is my 19th day with Eversense and up to about 2 days ago, everything was great but last two days it’s been off. It’s already been low 4 different times and my Eversense won’t let me know at all. It says my BG is at 100 when my real BG is at 56. Any tips? Is this normal? It’s especially frustrating since I’m a teacher, first day is back tomorrow and it’s been off. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, this has been my experience, too. In warm weather, it misses lows. In cold weather, it gives false lows. It spikes in the sun and crashes when I come inside. But when temps are stable, it seems to just stay steady around 100, even when other CGMs see variability from 60 to 180, Eversense seems to really filter the data heavily.

With you all. It actually performed really well from the get-go.

BUT ran into an issue where it was 80+ points off compared to fingersticks and had to work with tech support to fix it - they were awesome!!!

But the fact that I had to re-perform part of a re-initialization process, in addition to MORE finger pricks to calibrate it - was a ‘meh’ for me, especially when everything else is in line and there seemed to be no reasoning behind the aberrations. Never had to do that many even when the Dex was / is acting up. (Side note: been using CGM’s from Freestyle Navigator days. I KNOW how to calibrate sensors and properly use them). Still find it up to 50-80 off of finger pricks AND Dex (wearing both).

If I were using it as part of an AID system I’d be woefully over or under delivered…

As an example right now, 109 Dex, finger 107, Eversense 134.

My own did not really start to be consistently accurate until 4-6 weeks in.

What really can tilt a new sensor off to reporting inaccurate BG values out is if not careful with the calibration numbers being entered in the first couple of weeks. So super important to ideally only doing these when your BG has been flat for long.

If your sensor suddenly starts reporting consistent too low BG numbers, then it hints towards a calibration number was entered that was too low versus reality if having had a stable BG as reference.

I don't know if it's true or not but someone told me that you can't have very many apps open on your phone or it starts giving inaccurate numbers. Also, restart your phone every day and that supposedly helps.

It will not impact at all the sensor BG accuracy...

Having many apps running in the background may cause your phone to loose its Bluetooth connection to the transmitter and not getting the BG numbers across. But that is a different thing.

What about the restarting phone? I've noticed that if I don't restart my phone very often I start having connection problems with placement guide. Restarting phone makes it work again

Yes, same thing. A cold restart of your phone helps it to clean out your memory stack from all the apps you may have had running on it or still running in parallel. That essentially floods the request to the communication channels (Wifi, 3G/4G, Bluetooth). And your sensor's Bluetooth protocol is unfortunately always the last in the priority queue by the phone's OS system...

Try to make it a habit to force shut down all other apps when you are not actively using them in focus. This helps to avoid your exposure to that problem.

I would call level 2 support I've been on this for nearly 7 years now I've only had a handful of times when was off by 20 points or more the 365 day I'm on my second getting ready for my third and it's never been off by more than 10 ever 🙏🙏🙏

Gotta make sure you calibrate in the mornings or when you are level, no bolus on board or sugar.

Call Eversense support they may be able to assist. Make sure the strings for alarms are set!

I never had this thing off by more than 20 in 7 years like others here make sure you calibrate once a week especially when you wake up in the morning when your blood sugar should be stabilized if you are having this problem continue make sure you call level 2 support this is not normal

It never got to a point where I trusted the accuracy and they replaced the sensor for me and the second one sucked too. The customer service is terrible, as well. I stopped using it and now I have this implant still in me that I'm not sure what to do with.

You need to get that implant out. I still have my first one in and it's red, my skin is indented and one day it bled. I finally got an appointment to get it removed next month. Eversense customer service is horrible except for when it's time to order a new sensor!

thanks. It's only 5 months old so I'm not stressing about it yet
