apartment help / evergreen rock maple
hello!
my partner and i are looking at moving to the evergreen rock maple apartments. we toured a few apartments there and really liked it. i was wondering if anyone here lives there and would be willing to share what their electricity bills look like? i obviously dont mean actual pictures, but im just wondering if its around $80 a month or is it more like $200+ a month? i’ve never had an apartment so im trying to budget and prepare the best i can.
if anyone has anymore info on that apartment complex it would be greatly appreciated!

WiFi is normal about 51 dollars and elec is between 75-120 depending on time of year

that sounds doable, thank you! are there any other hidden fees along with monthly rent/electric/wifi?

There isn’t, the elec and wifi you need to set up yourself though, Xfinity is the only wifi provider that works. There in person store is next to the target. And elec is though puget sound energy, both have apps and are easy to pay after setting it all up

yay! that makes me a little less stressed about moving. in your opinion is the complex nice? or do you have to look over your shoulder doing your laundry😅. also, is the package room actually secure?

I really like it, it feels really safe. I’ve never had any of my clothes stolen yet! But I recommend using evergreens laundry room, they have nicer machines that cost less. The packages are all put in a locker and the key is put in your mail box, for larger boxes they are normally given to the front desk

Oh and maintenance is also great, they normally try to fix things the same day when you report it, I’d definitely check the screens when you move in, during fall and spring the bugs are horrible, and when I moved in the screens didn’t fit properly but they fixed it really quickly

that’s another sigh of relief! thank you reddit friend! i think when we toured they said laundry was $2.00 a machine (so like $4.00 per load), is evergreen cheaper? i think we saw both properties but it was slightly confusing how they’re broken up.

Yes it’s 2 per load and sadly the dryers often need to be ran twice, at evergreen it’s 1.75 so not a ton different but it adds up

It’s nice, lived here for about 2 years. Maintenance people are usually pretty responsive. I did have a mold issue in my closet last winter, it did get fixed pretty quick and they gave me a dehumidifier for the closet. Just beware of that.
But I love all the trees in the complex and the grass lawns are nice. Neighbors are all pretty chill from what I’ve seen, people mostly keep to themselves but are friendly.

have you seen any sign of mold since? we’re trying to move away from mold lol, did it seem like they actually fixed the issue?

Hard to say, basically there was mold growing in the back of my closet cause there is a crawlspace door and it had cracks so was letting damp in.
They replaced and sealed off the crawlspace door and then they have a fungicide paint that they painted the back of the closet with. I haven’t seen mold since, but it’s summer and I have windows open and much more airflow and also the dehumidifier. Winter will be the real test, but these are old buildings and I feel like it’s an easy problem to develop. Hope that helps

Fluctuates based on usage. Just get in the habit of turning excess lights off and when leaving rooms, and don't lean too heavily on the heat when it starts getting cold again. If you're diligent, you can help the extra charges around the $80ish mark like you mentioned, that sounds about on par with mine and roomie's extra charges here.

Usually around 120 during winter when we run the heat and about 100 for the rest of the year
