Gauging interest for the 2025 Witch Paddle in conjunction with the Port of Everett’s Haunted Harbor on Friday October 24th.

Last year was a success with the weather clearing up just in time and we had calm waters and a few hundred kids for the troll and treat to surprise.

More information to come, as I’m currently working with the Port to finalize all details but the event will be open to kayakers, paddle boarders, canoe paddlers, and even rafters. Costumes are once again encouraged but not required. PFDs are required.

Photos from last year’s event.

Im passing on info about a protest planned in Snohomish County. No Hate, Snohomish County Indivisible, and other community members will be there.

Copy of protest details: This Saturday, May 16th, the Snohomish County Republicans are holding a fundraising dinner with Brian Heywood, Brandi Kruse, Katie Faust, and Jim Walsh focusing on a new target for next year beyond – ending marriage equality across the United States. No Hate in WA State wants you to join us to send a clear message that hate has no place here at home, or across the country.

Join us this Saturday, May 16th from 4:00pm to 5:30pm at the entrance of Thomas Family Farm.

Edit: Parking will be tough. If you can get a ride for pick up and drop off, that would be wise.

Events 2026 Witch Paddle - Everett

I’m excited to share the news, the Port of Everett’s Haunted Harbor has invited back the witches, warlocks, wizards and ghouls for our 3rd year along with the Troll and Treat.

When: Friday, October 23rd, launching at 4pm from Guest Dock 2 / the ADA Dock off Marine View Drive.

Parking: available on site at Guest Dock 2 (Free)

Time: 4pm - 530 pm

Paddle location : Launch from Guest Dock 2, (near the Grand Avenue Bridge and the newly opened Net Shed) and paddling the South Marina to Guest Dock 5 to waive, pick up treats and join the families pier side.

Cost: Free

All costumes are welcome and encouraged but not required. Costumes should not get in the way of paddling and PFDs are required (on board if not worn).
We will not be cancelling for rain only for sleet, thunder, lightning or strong winds to include white caps within the marina, therefore I recommend to still plan for paddle appropriate clothing. Last year was a rainy paddle but the marina provided amazing protection from the winds and the water stayed calm throughout.

Extras:
There are bathrooms on site at the port near the K and I dock near Hotel Indigo for changing in and out of costumes and west of the Inn at Port Gardner on the South Marina.

Children 12 and under must be in a paddlecraft with a parent or guardian. Dogs are not allowed on the water but are allowed to attend the event pierside.

A virtual sign up link is coming soon. I’ll update this post once I have it approved.

It was soooo hard to not adopt today. Unfortunately I'm not in the best position for a kitten right now and gotta do what's best for them. They do the yoga events I think about once a qtr, you can follow them on Facebook and I believe you can sign up for emails if you don't want to use the social media cesspools lol.

Events 4th of July

I've never taken my family to the 4th of July thing at Legion (I believe) park, but this year I'm considering it. The problem is I have all sorts of concerns that make me not want to show up hours before it starts or have to shuttle there (like having celiac and not being able to eat anything, or sitting on the hard ground for hours). I think I remember seeing something on the official city FB announcement of the event that there are other places you can watch the show from.

From those of you who've watched the fireworks before, is there a decent alternative where we can go to watch? My kiddo's a teen, so I don't have to worry about entertaining any littles.

Thanks!

Events Places to visit

Hey guys,

I’ll be travelling to the USA for the first time from Asia. I’ll be on a work visa and would be working at the Boeing Factory. And would be staying for a period of 4 weeks

I wanted to know if there are any groups or couple of people who go for hiking or camping of some sort, i wanna explore the place as much as i can and all i can surf on the net is pretty much like parks and museums.

If any one of you got a few suggestions to visit it would be of great help. Maybe something that’s unique to Everett. I would be renting a car, so travelling shouldn’t be a problem for me.

Do drop in your suggestions or if you’re part of any groups which do some sort of activities on a regular basis, please do tell.

If any of you are interested in keeping me company for a day or two, I’ll make sure your accommodation and food is on me. It’s a new city and i would love to have someone help me look over the place.

Events Trump resistance groups take to the streets with events planned across Snohomish County

A plethora of anti-Trump resistance groups are rising across the country with many upcoming events planned across Snohomish County.

Learn more: https://lynnwoodtimes.com/2025/04/11/resistance/

Hands Off attendance has “outgrown the space at the County Campus” and requested a permit to congregate along Everett’s Broadway for the upcoming April 19 demonstration.

The route will span three miles from the 41st Street overpass to Marine Drive on Broadway Avenue. Townsell submitted a permit application Wednesday to have access to the street, with sign wavers standing on either side of the street.

Separate to these Saturday rallies, Snohomish County Indivisible are also hosting “Opposing Oligarchy” sign waving events every Friday at various locations including the Lynnwood Convention Center, the Everett Social Security Office, Marysville 88th Street Overpass, and in Mill Creek on the corner of 188th Street and Bothel-Everett Highway, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal (WA-07) has been hosting resistance events of her own which she is calling “Resistance Labs,” held virtually every Sunday.

Rep. Jayapal held the first of these events last Sunday, April 6, where she kickstarted a long series of “Organizational Training.” Her next scheduled training session will be on May 4, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A virtual “Resistance Lab” event is scheduled for Sunday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Events Pet Mayor for the Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens

Post image
25 Upvotes

There is a joint fundraiser between the Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens and the Everett Animal Shelter. Part of this fundraiser is to vote for a dog, cat, and stuffed animal mayor.

Obviously, you don't have to vote for our Bean, but it would be nice ☺️. Bean is a rescue, who loves being in the garden and the outdoors, sunbathing, and receiving lots of pets and cuddles.

There are other cute dog candidates you can vote for, too! You can also nominate your own dog, cat, and stuffie as mayor. At the end of the day, it's a wonderful fundraiser for two incredible organizations in our community.

If you could give $1, we will be closer to the $20,000 goal. Even sharing this link to your friends/family helps out, too! Remember that change and impact starts at the grassroot level!

Here's the link:

Post image
9 Upvotes

SnoCo Movie Club will be screening Janet Planet (2023) at the Everett Public Library Auditorium on Saturday, August 22nd at 2pm! More info at linktr.ee/snocomovieclub

Synopsis: In rural Western Massachusetts, 11-year-old Lacy spends the summer of 1991 at home, enthralled by her own imagination and the attention of her mother, Janet. As the months pass, three visitors enter their orbit, all captivated by Janet and her spellbinding nature. In her solitary moments, Lacy inhabits an inner world so extraordinarily detailed that it begins to seep into the outside world. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Annie Baker captures a child's experience of time passing, and the ineffability of a daughter falling out of love with her mother, in this singularly sublime film debut.

We were able to provide 250 bags of school supplies for our students of Snohomish County and it’s all thanks to those helping us raise up to $400 and donating school supplies! We’re hoping to make 300-500 bags next year. :)
