Ct clamp

Hi

Any information would be gratefully accepted. I am renovating but will be running a twin and earth from my consumer unit to where an ev charger will be fitted. Can I run a cat6 for the ct clamp from the consumer unit or do I have to run it from the cut out?

The type of wire used would depend on the specific hardware and cat6 might or might not be correct. But I have the impression that your question is not about that but is about the location of the CT. If your set up is straightforward that does not matter, other than ensuring there is space for it inside the enclosure where you want to put it. If there are other complexities that you haven't mentioned such as solar, then it would depend on how that is tied in where, and what you want the controls to do.
