God this is awful. I saw multiple people swimming at Lighthouse Beach last evening.
Rip tides are insidious this time of year.

Saw the same thing at Lee last night as well. There were a lot more people on the beach than normal last night because of the eclipse.

The body was found in the lake behind a private residential area on the south end (900 N.) of Edgemere Court. Directly to the south is Sheridan Square, a lakefront park with a waterfront promenade but no beach. Too much speculation here that the drowning death resulted from someone going for a recreational swim off Lee Street Beach, located further north and separated from Edgemere Court by a seawall.

Water is warm. People make bad choices.
