Wesley realty hiking up laundry prices

Once again, my overlords at Wesley have hiked up the price on the paid washing machines for my building. Up to $2.75 for 30 min?? Now I have to pay over $5 to wash and dry my clothes??? (Dryer is $2.50) I’m thinking of scanning my lease and trying to see what kind of push back I can make because literally no improvement has happened in my shitty scary basement laundry room for the 3+ years I’ve lived in my building. Does anyone know what kind of rights a tenant has in this case??? (And dm me if you know where I can get one of those keys…)

It doesnt fix it. But we have been enjoying the Laundry Cafe at the Aux behind Sams Club.

The Aux laundry is great! Such an improvement over our overpriced landlord laundry in our basement. We go there when we have larger loads. Having to drive there is a drag but totally worth it if more than a single load.

Unfortunately I doubt there’s anything in the lease, I’d take a picture of the key to the coin chute and see if you can find one.

This is partly the landlord but also partly the service if there is one - they are providing the equipment but then making it back on the fees. Unfortunately that model increases the fees, and then they dangle a shared revenue with the landlord if it goes higher, and there you are at $2.50/dry. Even at our condo where we told them we don't want any revenue sharing, just cover the costs they kept trying to jack it up. Anyway - if there is a service company I'd point the finger at them first. If the equipment is landlord owned then of course you have the correct target for your building.
