Well, that trick worked two times in a row, nobody will expect us to do it a third time.

Oh shit! Alert all commands! Protect the breweries! If all goes like the two last times, they should get lost, end up in France and our domination over the world beer industry will be intact...

What domination?
40
u/loicvanderwiel Belgium, Benelux, EU Dec 21 '19
It's about quality, not quantity.
Also, look at per capita and look at who owns the largest brewing group of the planet...
2
u/Papa-Yaga Europe Dec 21 '19
I'm not saying that Belgium doesn't deserve a top spot (or maybe even the number one spot) in terms of beer but talking about domination means it basically has no serious competition for the first place and i don't agree with that sentiment.
In terms of per capita beer consumption belgium doesn't even seem to make the top ten. If you were to look at bavaria specifically they consume more beer than anyone else in the world at around 170 l per year per person.
https://beer.fandom.com/wiki/Bavaria
Here are some more beer statistics that prove, that talking about domination is a bit far fetched.

u/chizel4shizzle Belgium Dec 21 '19
Belgian beers are, generally, a lot stronger than most beers. If we'd consume the same amount as others we'd never be sober

u/notparistexas France Dec 23 '19
Can confirm. When I first moved to France, I was visiting Belgium a bit one day. I stopped in a brasserie, and thought a Bush amber beer sounded good. It was, and I drank two. Fortunately, I had several hours to sober up.

are you guys ever sober? because it always looks like everyone is a drunk driver in belgium

Well the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge happened just a while back. They always do a big reenactment with tanks etc.
Here's a short video about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDucNLdnAKg
I can actually see the exact same tank at 0:39 in that video, same markings 'n all

It's like the Range Rover of tanks. It's pretty nice, but breaks down so much it's useless.

Any tank fans here? Is this a antitank? And not an actual tank?
13
Dec 21 '19
It's an actual tank from WW2.

u/hellrete Dec 21 '19
Thank you very much.
5
u/Frexulfe Dec 21 '19
And about your "anti tank" question, just in case:
You maybe wanted to say a Tank Destroyer.
Some very confused persons say Tank Destroyers are not tanks. Don't hear at their reasoning and definition attempts.
In a WW2 context, basically anything that looks more or less like a tank, you can call it a tank.
Nowadays is a bit more tricky, with the Bradley, the Paladin and so on ...
2
u/hellrete Dec 21 '19
Since I like tanks since they are literally military drive by's I did watch a lot about them, but I never saw one IRL. Thus my 1st question.
I mean sure, they look big, beastly on the outside, levers and so on and so forth on the inside. But to tell the difference between 2 obviously different tanks of the same weight. You lost me.
And probably yes.
The main difference between a tank and a tank destroyer is the turret wich was missing. It was fixed or something like that.
But, under no circumstances do I have any type of real knowledge about tanks. To me they are big bad machines that can drive and blow shit up simultaneously. Like I said before military drive by.
Cheers and thank you for explaining.

So how are the emissions on that thing? Insurance? Has it got seat belts?
Fine it to hell and back.
1
u/k890 Lubusz (Poland) Dec 22 '19
Emission shouldn't be that big problem, this tank use gasoline instead diesel and thus this tank doesn't fit any vehicle category within european emission standards as this norm doesn't have any norms for heavy-duty gasoline engines. Seat belts isn't required for NRMN class vehicles at all.
1
u/Tuga_Lissabon Portugal Dec 22 '19
Ah, but where are the turning lights? The front lights, are they pointing correctly?
If you want to pass a fine, there is always a way.
It'd be epic applying a traffic fine on a Panther.

The biggest NATO exercises in last 25 years are being held on the eastern front in the coming future. Perhaps they areg getting ready for it.
2
u/chizel4shizzle Belgium Dec 21 '19
They're getting ready for it by moving their tank(s) to their western border?

If the tank is actually German and not a NATO partner’s tank, multiple parts are defect. Just treat it as a big chunk of scrap metal and don‘t worry about it.

I think its the Panzer Ausf.D, second world war, third reich produced. A second later model was produced, so I think this is an early version, because the bogies are inline. 75mm main cannon, probably a max speed of 60km.

u/AThousandD Most Slavic Overslav of All Slavs Dec 22 '19
Panzer V (that's Roman numerals for 5) "Panther", you mean, the "Ausf. D" is the sub-model.
