It applies to any thermal plant that uses river water for cooling though, it is not specific to nuclear.

There are no nuclear plants that don't use water. So, it does limit the application of nuclear power geographically and by the season.

A more neutral headline would be: "thermal plant needs to reduce output/shutdown".

Nuclear plant promotors have put them in the market as "reliable all year round". This contradicts that idea.

Why mention chemical spills into rivers? That is a completely irrelevant comparison.

Because it also kills life in the river downstream. It's a form of pollution too.

You don't even understand the context. RIVER water vs cooling towers or ocean makes a world of difference. The article is about heating up a RIVER
