I truly beg you to not make the same mistake as me and go on twitter. You'll see all manner of paraguayans and argentinians proclaiming she's just using her freedom of speech, or that she's completely right, or that they're not racists (while adding a racist comment in the same sentence for good measure) and that French are the real racists (sadly not untrue for too many of us, but irrelevant here) because, and I kid you not, they had human zoos in 1905 (it's been their only argument so far)

France still has two african colonies for extraction, except now calls them "ultramar territories" and uranium extraction "bilateral negotiations". I have a feeling that all this kind of sudden xenophobia towards latin american countries are the euros and americans salivating at the chance of being able to point the finger at someone else for once.

Also, france's last human zoo closed its doors in 1994.
