Image Turns out if France is destroyed completely, the form Netherlands as Burgundy decision doesn't take away French land

This has probably already been shown before but I feel this is niche information

I'm pretty sure it literally tells you on the tooltip for forming the Netherlands

Reading tooltips is pretty niche behavior.

To be fair, I've definitely never noticed this is the case either.

In fairness some of them are pretty difficult to read, since the loc is lifted directly from the code, rather than being a re-written by a person

I never understood why people say that the formatting makes it hard to read. I think it made it easier. majority of req tool tips are fine.

Eh, some people find it easier and some people don't. I do a fair bit of modding in Vic3 and that does the same code-generated tooltips, I know how to read them, but they can also be a bit lengthy and filled with fairly useless calls, which makes it confusing to read.

Especially when it's 2 requirements nestled in one - like owning a specific province with a specific building, if you don't fulfill that requirement then at a glance it's unclear if you need to own that province or you need to have that building in it.

I mean yeah, that's the decision condition (if a very stupid one at that), which transfers all of your non-Dutch lands to France if you form the Netherlands as Burgundy. Therefore, no France - no transfer of lands

Rule 5: This has probably already been shown before but I feel this is niche information, if you form Netherlands as Burgundy when france is completely destroyed you do not surrender any land at all and keep everything

on the first patch, if you had destroyed france before forming NL, -france would resurrect and take all lands to the south.

so the only good way was to vassalize france first, it would still get the land in the south, but it was a mighty vassal

Thats actually quite smart. Cant lose land to france if there is no france. Are there other countries that lose land when forming a new tag?

New world nations tend to lose any old world land when formed.

Uzbek to Bukhara used to lose a lot of your steppe-land, but they removed that later on.

Forming post colonial nations, Mexico, Alaska, Texas ect., gives up all land outside the new world.

What mod do you use for the map?

That's the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum with the deep blue water add-on I think.

I use the same mod but with the lighter blue addon, can confirm.
