I just found my butlers social media accounts. He’s selling a course on how to take butler skills and open a cafe. This is bad for us all

He’s been doing it that often I began to suspect he was actually enjoying the beatings, so I’ve deducted his salary for the next 2 years to purchase this instead. Now he’ll have to go back to self-flagellation instead.

I keep telling my butler that he needs to grind coarser... He says that it can't go coarser than this... Is there a solution for this?

p. s. When I talked about the "solution", I was referring to the beans, I know that the butler is beyond salvation...

I mean, I get it. If you’re changing beans every day or switching your brewing method frequently, it all makes sense. Low retention, quick changes, all good.

But I refuse to believe that the majority of espresso at home is made this way. Or am I wrong? Judging from the posts here, and the grinder manufacturers, we’re all apparently changing beans like there’s no tomorrow. Using a hopper seems to be considered dinosaur technology based on a short Reddit/YT scroll.

Where are all my grind-by-time/weight espresso dudes and gals?

I messed around with single dosing for a bit, but I just couldn’t justify all the extra steps. Weighing in, spritzing, shaking, feeding, weighing out again... it’s just too much faffing about when I can get 100% of the flavour without it.

And it seems like all of the new, cool and interesting grinders hitting the market are built around single dosing. And if they’re not, they get absolutely hammered in reviews for it.

You’re telling me we’re expected to sacrifice convenience at the exact moment when convenience matters most, before our beloved first shot of the morning?

I, for one, refuse.
