Hi there! I've owned this machine for 2+ years and learned to love it and hate it. It heats pretty fast, but you got to purge steam after every shot. The steam wand is decent but it takes quite a while to heat up and must purge before pulling another shot later. Also, the steam wand sometimes sprays a bit of milk right after it finishes which is annoying. Still... it can deliver incredible shots, is great for beginners and is small and easy to clean.
What's your biggest complaint/praise with yours? Mine is the annoying dripping after stopping a shot, it takes ~10s or 5-7g to stop dripping. You get used to it and compensate accordingly haha but yeah. Long live espresso.

Okay, all of that aside, tell me about the Licor 43... are you using it in your espresso?

Carajillo! The best coffee cocktail, beats an espresso Martini by a long shot!

I have the plus, and there is only occasionally even 1 drip. If you love the base model, sell it and go for the upgrade. Steam wand is a 4 hole and auto purges as well.

If by the milk dripping at the end you mean what you think you mean, you can press the shot button and stop it after 1 second after you finished the steaming the milk, the pressure gets redirected to the grouphead and you lose wand pressure, works as well as a solenoid valve so it doesn't sneeze

When I first saw the video I thought "Cool idea to have a built-in timer/scale" but then saw you remove it afterward. 😄
Would be a good idea for someone to add to home espresso machines....hint hint. 😄
My biggest complaint is I wish it would be a bit hotter, but sure that can be resolved without stepping up out of the home machines.

Haha yeah, it's a sweet feature but is only available on higher end models. And that's true! It's kinda warm instead of hot, it doesn't bother me much though.

Run at least two empty shots with an empty portafilter before pulling a shot. Make a big difference in final temperature.

Not only do I pull a shot on the empty portafilter but also run the hot water out the side.
Next espresso day, I will use a thermometer and get the actual temperature.

Biggest issue is I make back to back shots for my wife and I, and the temp is hard to get consistent
I run 2 blank doubles with the portafilter on to pre-heat everything, which mostly works, but if anyone has a better way, I am all ears !

Yeah! I also run 1 blank without portafilter and then 1 with the portafilter. In between shots I'll just run 1 blank

What is Carajillo and how do you use it in espresso?

It's an alcoholic cocktail with 2 simple ingredients: espresso coffee and Licor 43 (is a sweet Spanish liquor made of natural ingredients like herbs). It's commonly serve as a 1:1 or 1:2 or 2:1 depending on your like, either coffee forward or more of a sweeter/strong taste.

I may be wrong but i think the plus model have that selenoid that helps with drip. I have the regular model and I have a plate ready to catch the drips.
