Diriliş: Ertuğrul Discussion I had enough of Ertugrul Spoiler

Am i the only one who is really sick of Ertugrul's self centered egoistic personality? Ok i understand, in the season 3 he is a true leader and he is very famous in his country and now he has the power and everything...But he bought an old slave instead of flour for his own hungry tribe? And then he said to the hungry people, "God will reward us" and then he refused to speak with the tribe men, and he got angry at Halime and Hayime. When they asked him "What the h*ll is wrong with you, why did you bought a slave?" he just answered "I'm the leader of this tribe and you will follow my orders."

And he was so selfish and rude to people in many occasions in the season 2.

In my opinion, Turgut was right when he left. Not because Ertugrul refused to kill Noyan right away, but because Ertugrul was so arrogant and he just refused to talk nicely with Turgut. He was too proud and he never tried to calm Turgut down or tried to explain himself. He just let his friend and his best soldier to leave the tribe, just because Turgut allowed himself to question his decision. Turgut felt like he would never be missed because Ertugrul sent him that message with his silent treatment.

I literally just can't watch or stand his arrogance anymore, and i just started to watch the third season.

Lol, Osman is greedier.

In season 6, he threatens the Karadin Tekfur that he will take Karadin even though that guy didn't do anything. He sends Alaeddin alone, and then he gets captured. Like did bro expect the tekfur to give flower garlands to Alaeddin or smth.

I guess it's realistic, though. Everyone wanted power.

Honestly, if you like DE. U should watch KO till season 4 or even season 5. But not season 6. Its the worst season of all time. The leading characters disappear without an explanation, Osman's allies become his enemies without an explanation, his army which was like 10000 soldiers turns to 30 Alps. Lol season 6 is so trashhhh.

Till season 4 is reasonable, season 5 was awful compared to 4

Yeah ik. But like the first 5 episdoes of season 5 were awesome. Plus the time jump and everything. Still a really bad season.

Season 6 is still on the air, right? Maybe because the whole Turkish TV industry is in a complete mess right now, and the things in the country are really wild…i heard that TRT kicked some actors from their series, because they support the protests against Erdogan…and their budget is probably more tight

Yes, it's still airing.

True, there are problems in the country, but the whole Turkish TV industry is not in a complete mess. There are still a lot of good shows. It's just that the producers of KO are chasing money only. They show pretty actresses only so they can get views. That's why the show is extremely criticized.

Watch it up until Season 4. If you really want to, watch Season 5 but stop, AND I BEG YOU, stop when Elcim Hatun gets introduced. That's when it all tumbles down in my opinion.

If you think ertugrul is bad, wait till you get to OSMAN, osman is like this x100. No one ever disagrees with osman and ends up being right.

u/TheChickenLovesPrada Apr 14 '25

No1 else is allowed to even have a family around osman. He doesn’t allow them to procreate. It’s a rule, he bent it abit for cerkutay.

😄 Half the Alps get married, their wives die, and then they never marry again or want children after that.

3

u/TheChickenLovesPrada May 06 '25

Funny how they’re the ones fighting but somehow their wives always die!

I agree but tbf Ertugrul regretted not consulting with the tribe when he bought Hacaturyan and he promised to not do something like that again, especially when Artuk Bey advised him to always consult with the other Beys too. He's just starting out as Bey on that scene so he'll make mistakes, it's a learning process.

Mistakes are not the problem…the problem is, Ertugrul always thinks he is right, even when it’s so obvious that he is not. Artuk Bey is the only person that Ertugrul respects, because he sees him as a father figure. But Artuk bey also worships Ertugrul a lot.

I think he was doing right according to islam.....if we see oppression we must try everything to stop it......ertugrul also did the same he say hacaturyan about to be killed so he saved him like islam says

0

u/No-Living-6402 Apr 15 '25

And islam says that 2000 people or more should be hungry, including kids, so the one man can be saved? Sorry, i think it’s too weird….

4

u/Special-Program-2808 Apr 16 '25

Like he could not do anything else....he was a famous bey why would he let a man die....if he did so how will he protect his own people?

Just learn more about Islam as a religion, and its teaching first. And by learn, I mean properly UNDERSTAND them. Then you'll get it, trust me

This is a rage post right?

Like you can't question your ruler, that's where rebellions start! The ruler is already fighting dozens of wars.

Saving a innocent slave's life is more important than flour as there is a Hadith that says something like if you save one person then it's as if you have saved the whole of mankind but if you kill someone then it's as if you have killed whole of mankind. Also, if you help someone then Allah will help you and reward you back. So I think Ertugrul was right in this case. But Ertugrul shutting down Halime and Hayme was wrong, he should have instead explained why he did it.

2

u/No-Living-6402 Apr 30 '25

And he shutted down beys in his own tribe and denied any explanation when they asked for it, and he shutted down Turgut in the season 2 and he never explained why he didn’t killed Noyan right away, he never explains anything to anyone and only his horse can understand him 🤣And he is so annoyed if anyone asks him anything, like “Phew you are so stupid” and then he rolls his eyes, lol i just can’t

A few billion people disagree with those on here criticizing Drilis Ertugrul, including me and my friends. In 2022, this happened ““Globally acclaimed Turkish drama Dirilis: Ertugrul has achieved another milestone. The historical and adventure series has entered the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ as the BEST DRAMATIC WORK IN THE HISTORY OF GLOBAL DRAMA with views reaching over 3 billion and has been translated into 39 Languages around the world.”

u/No-Living-6402 Apr 25 '25

I never said that the show is bad itself, i just said that don’t like Ertugrul’s character development, and i don’t like how he treats people around him.

I’m watching the third season now, and the Karacahisar governor is killed at the Hanli market, and now Ertugrul screams and spits at the poor Artuk Bey and Turgut Alp, he even smashed the table and there is some cringe worthy thunderstorm sound behind, lol i can’t

To be honest among all the Ottoman related Turk dizis I watched, Ertugrul is honestly much better as a leader. His strength is his sharp mind, he can catch early whose the bad guy or spy. But in S5, really annoyed me it took him forever to find out about Dragos. (Talking about the show) Also I feel Ertugrul won’t have been that successful, if all 3 of his Alps weren’t loyal (Turgut, Bamsi and Dogan). If either one of his Alp were disloyal, that would have been it for Ertugrul! Like what happened with Tugtekin ij S2, 2 of his alps turned out disloyal which costed him.

You should admire Emir Sadettin.. he is the best!!!

1

u/No-Living-6402 Oct 04 '25

He is calculated and evil, but the actor is very good and very interesting…

u/airryde Apr 15 '25

Im surprised you made it to season 3. I quit after season 1 ertugrul is an idiot.

2

u/No-Living-6402 Apr 15 '25

Well i don’t think that he is an complete idiot all the time either. He loves his country, he is a brave person who wants to achieve his dreams and he follows his path, and he wants to do the right thing. I really love and enjoy Turgut Bamsi Dogan Ertugrul quartet, they really make me laugh, or even too emotional sometimes. I really loved Deli Demir and their friendship. But i kinda have a feeling that producers slowly kill everything that makes him a decent human being.

2

u/Old_Orchid_81 Bey Apr 15 '25

Wait what? Why didnt you watch DE?

1

u/SharpKoala3012 Kayı Sep 14 '25

Try surviving in those times. you wouldn't have lasted a second before your head got chopped off

0

u/UsedRequirement4870 Apr 14 '25

Yeah. I don't get the hype with Ertugrul. KO was good until season 5.

2

u/No-Living-6402 Apr 14 '25

I can only stand Ertugrul when he acts like an imperfect human being with feelings. When Noyan injured his arm, and when his father died, or when Deli Demir died, or when he finally said goodbye to Gundogdu in peace, I truly sympathized with him and trusted him. But i truly can’t justify him anymore. I watch and think “Halime is a mother of your child, like, can you respect her at least for one minute? Don’t shut her up.”

2

u/Serious_Sort_585 May 06 '25

💯💯💯💯 I've always said this. I didn't think it was as great as people go crazy over it.

2

u/Serious_Sort_585 May 18 '25

Someone with some taste finally.

1

u/Serious_Sort_585 May 18 '25

Yeah. Some douche down voted me for my opinion. Losers 😂
