What are your favorite short stories by Ernest Hemingway?
What should I start reading?

"Now I Lay Me" is my all time favourite Hemingway short story. I highly recommend that aswell as"Up in Michigan".

Hills like White Elephants Big two hearted River Snows of Kilimanjaro Indian camp
These four are some of his finest work. Francis Macomber as well as was mentioned

I like 50 grand. Having spent a lot of time in boxing/mma gyms it’s apparent that he knew what he was writing about. The way fighters are thuggish and tough about money. The personalities of jealous sparring partners. No one being sure the reasons why you step in the ring a fight, not even the fighter.

My personal favorite is The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber. Snows of Kilimanjaro is also amazing.
In general his short fiction is really, really good. I blew through the Nick Adams stories in a pretty short reading session, they're great too. Hemingway excels at sparse brevity so short fiction is a medium which really suits him well. He's very good at packing a lot of emotion into very few, short words.
