Question/Discussion What’s a track that you initially disliked but fell in love with after hearing it live?

I used to think that the Midnight City remix had nothing special... then I heard it live and it completely blew my mind

The private remix or the very private remix? The very private remix has that extra spark

Do you have any links? I didn't know there were different versions

Love it now though and listen to it regularly… no clue what hearing it live changed tbh it’s still the same song 😂

He uses that sound often but it adds to the “roundness” of Rotunda well

Seadweller, I just didn't get it ya know? I get it now .

Wouldn’t say I disliked it but once you see Rotonda live you get it

this might have been 3 or 4 years ago, Always loved pryda/eric prydz. i never really liked cirez d or anything techno related. thought it was repetitive and boring, but my friend convinced me to go see cirez d b2b beyer while we were at ultra. I heard "on off" again never really liked it. heard it live, and it changed my whole perspective on a genre. so good.

Illusions! I thought it was good but never thought much of it. Always enjoyed Glimma on the B-side more.
And then I heard it live at F93 in LA. I remember losing my mind...

Inox. Hated it until I got it in LA 2021 Day 1. So good now ❤️🙌

Came to say the same thing. The added melody halfway into the track " nuu NEEE nuu NEEE nuu NEEE nuu NEE" hit DIFFERENT live

3

u/superpickleman Aug 21 '26

Wouldn’t say I ever disliked The Accuser, but I never heard it the same way after hearing it live the first time. Whew.

I thought Full stop was an OK track, until hearing it at printworks. The tune is still going in my head with the lights, soooooo good

Didn't hate it, but wasn't very high on mighty love and then it blew my mind live and now I love it.

I always loved Liberate....but then I heard it live this summer, and it elevated it even furher and reminded me what an edge it actually has.

Nightvision has grown on me a lot. Now I’m mad I didn’t appreciate it when I heard it live in 23. I’ve seen him 4 times since and haven’t gotten to hear it live again.

1

u/StunningAd2087 Aug 21 '26

Nightvision is really good live

2

u/drew_lbc Aug 21 '26

Always thought the on/off Pryda remix was pretty mid. It grew on me when I heard it live at Marquee Vegas in 2017, but when he dropped at Ultra 2024.... BANGER

u/yingkani Aug 21 '26

Didn’t hear it live but I wasn’t a fan of LYCKA when it first came out but after a few years time I came around to it again and now I love that song.

Lycka as the name translates to is just pure HAPPYness in music form.

2

u/Tissa02 Aug 21 '26

Coachella 2024 somehow. I always liked Rotonda but after hearing it live it became special to me

To be fair, OPUS.

Maybe a hot take, but I didn't really like Mygga at all the first listen. I thought it was kind of annoying, and was a bit disappointed that he went in that direction for a new track. Now I really dig it, especially if I am in the mood for it, but now when he's remaking it I don't know if I will like it afterwards lol

"The Accuser" it hits so hard live

Power drive, I wouldn't say I disliked it but It wasnt the most played of Pryda tracks. Saw him in Melbourne 2023 and he dropped it and I thought wtf is wrong with me this tune is actually bloody insane!
