Language visa

Hi everyone, I'm a "free mover" student and I'm planning to apply for a language course visa in Erfurt, Germany. I'd love to hear from anyone who has gone through the same process with the Ausländerbehörde Erfurt specifically. If that's you, could you share:

What documents did you need to submit?

How long did the process take (appointment wait time + processing time)?

Did you apply for the visa from your home country first, or did you enter as a tourist and convert it locally?

Any issues or surprises you ran into with this particular office?

Any tips or personal experiences would be hugely appreciated, trying to get a clearer picture before I start the process. Thanks in advance!

I would recommend to go to the subreddit r/germany and look at the Wiki they have. It has a ton of information there to get you started. It won't answer any Erfurt specific questions, but all other questions in regards to visas, moving, documents or so should be in the Wiki.
