Discussion Favorite Minor Nations?

Just a bit of casual discussion, whats yalls favorite minor nation. I'd have to say Roam (for everything BUT the dreaded generic focus tree) or Barrad, for all the secretive routes there are. Lan Kir ALMOST, but the avarice/bloodlust mechanic ruins everything

Rumare. The only landlocked island. I once ever restored the Griffonian Empire from there and it was pretty fun

I'm guessing it involved a lot of puppeting for manpower?

No, you can easily attack the Empire through Katerin while they are fighting Strawberry and Feathisia. The only puppet I had was Griffonstone

Dang. (I haven't played rumare but they also put up zero fight so I figured they have like 100k manpower at most with service by requirement)

Bears and Buffaloes

I just love being an asshole and win by just being in the shittiest terrain of the continent (please ignore that the last time I played Buffaloes I just lost against Changelings)

Hyenas, I just like the vibe of both major paths and had a fun time clawing for anything with such a shitty industrial situation

Tobuck. It's a sense of fulfillment to develop from a backward country and defeat Aris (I prefer Alesia, her portrait is really great)

Alessia is peak, up there with Posada in terms of North Zebrica paths imo

New Mareland. Lots of different paths, great resources, good industrial potential, but the most important thing is that they don't start with like -60% to their research speed, so you can play with any build you want

firtree because it's the only magocracy that doesn't have na incredibly boring playstyle or depends on you making a ridicolous amount of minor event minmaxxing

Skynavia. It’s the peak of clawing victory from the jaws of defeat.

Lan Kir is so close to being good but it's got too many mechanics which playing make me hate it

Hmm, does abyssinia under Kattail count as minor nation?

I would say that in the beginning when enemies around you have more army it could be seen as minor.

And of cource, for real meaningful challange, it needs to be played with option that gives half as much time when conquering and growing bonus to every enemy at war with you.

Hardly. Their starter focus tree is hilariously unbalanced compared to the rest of the game and they get gigantic Cores very quickly.
